How Sweden is trying to turn every 16-year-old into a feminist
Several Swedish organizations are so determined to achieve gender equality that they are providing every high school sophomore in the country with a copy of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s We Should All Be Feminists, reports NPR.
The Swedish translation of the book came out Tuesday, and that same day, the Swedish Women’s Lobby, which represents 45 feminist groups in the country, teamed up with the U.N. Association, Trade Union Confederation and book publishers to distribute over 100,000 copies of the book to high schools across the country, hoping to start a dialogue on gender equality, with Sweden being one of the most gender-equal countries in the world.
