'Idolatry' protest as relics of saint start next stage of tour
A handful of demonstrators protested outside York Minster yesterday as hundreds of Christians gathered to see a casket of visiting holy Catholic relics.
The Gothic cathedral is the only Protestant venue in the 28-stop itinerary, which includes 11 Catholic cathedrals, four convents, Wormwood Scrubs prison and a hospice in London.
The Minster was open all night so pilgrims could see the relics – portions of thigh and foot bones contained in a casket....
