IAHE Workshop Descriptions for Dr. John Whitcomb
"The Conversion of an Evolutionist" What did Dr. John Whitcomb learn from his experiences in the Ninth Army in Belgium in December of 1944, and how does it apply to apologetics? Furthermore, how do delayed-fuse armor-piercing shells compare to the power of Holy Scripture? Find out as our teacher rehearses his testimony, including his time at Princeton University, where he found something he never expected to find, namely salvation in Christ. Listen to him tie all of these interesting concepts to the topic of presuppositional apologetics, also including a discussion of deistic and theistic evolution.
"The Flood and the Final Judgment" Dr. John Whitcomb will show the importance of Biblical chronology and the power of God to change the earth through catastrophism. Our teacher explains how Noah's ark – that great vessel of salvation for a family saved by grace – could float even when the highest mountains were covered by at least 15 cubits of water. “The key is the ark,” Dr. Whitcomb says, showing how foolish the account of the Genesis flood becomes if that flood were local and not universal. “Noah's ark was no joke to those who survived the flood,” he states. Our speaker also answers some objections which have been proposed to the Scriptural teaching on the ark. We trust that you will be blessed by Dr. Whitcomb's dynamic insights on this crucial portion of the Lord's Word.
"The Flood and the Fossil Record" Like so many people, maybe you have questions about fossils, such as, “Where did they come from?” Or, “Why aren't there human fossils?” Or, “Why aren’t there new fossils being made today?” Only the Noahic Flood, not evolutionism, can give us a basis to answer such questions and explain the layout of fossils buried beneath the surface of the earth. Do you realize the importance of that universal Deluge? Listen as Dr. John Whitcomb, a noted theologian, author and creation speaker, addresses this vital subject – breaking it down for all to understand clearly.
"What is Man?" Psalm 8 gives us all that we need to know about man. It also shows us how God is infinitely different from all earthly powers – knowing all about us and our needs. "What is man?" asks Dr. John Whitcomb. "Really nothing – if we didn't have a Savior," he says. Yet we do, as our teacher will demonstrate from this very passage. We trust that you will find the gospel, perhaps for the first time ever, in this inspiring message. And for those of you who know the good news, there will be plenty more to learn from these ancient words of the great King David.
