Have you ever even been to America?

B. McCausland wrote:
Observing the ongoing intense tirade of argument on the topic, one wonders why American Christians are so obsessed imagining either candidate is going to bring about a difference.
If an individual lives by the media he/she will work and die by the media. If we live by the things of the Spirit of God, we will engage in the things given to us of God.

Sermon:
What is it to ask God in Faith?
Pastor Chalan Hetherington

“ Great Sermon! ”
Very stimulating message. It caused me to examine my prayer life, whether I have faith for an answer. Is it according to God's will? Do I really know what to pray for? Are my prayers empty? Mostly I was left believing that if I prayed for God to be glorified in the posts, He would answer.

and Christ told us as well as demonstrate that God is kind. It is because of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed. If God marked iniquity, who could stand?

I thank God for imputing His righteousness to me.

It is not burdensome to tell you this again, I Told You So Long Ago.

May God grant you more of His grace.

This God, Daniel's God, the God of every believer in Christ is nothing but kind. May we all live in accordance with what we've been baptized into - Christ's death.

Hey, thanks Frank. You seem to do a lot of pondering. I need to start doing the same. I'm so busy that I never really take the time to just think about the things that matter; biblical things, that is.
1 Timothy 2:2 says to PRAY For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

There is no need for any Christian to become agitated by those in this world and of this world. Christ still rules over the lives of men; even PRESIDENTS.

Perhaps, Christopher, those you are exposing will receive the gift of grace just as you have. And its free to those being used and accused just as you were and sometimes are.

Men need our prayers, not our criticism.

Remember another baptist imprisioned there last month by the name of John Short. He was an Austrailian missionary in China and Hong Kong for 50 years. Last year at a bible conference he shared his willingness to give his life that N.Korea might have the gospel. On his second visit he and his christain chinese helper Wang were confronted by police about handing out tracts. Wang slipped away but John was taken. He now faces a min15 yr sentence. He is 75years old and will likely never see freedom again.

I have no problem with providing assistance for widows, orphans, and those genuinely not capable of working. Or temporary assistance for people who fall on hard times. But far too many people take advantage of it when they are capable of working in some capacity.
2 Thessalonians 3:
10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
11 For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.

My father suffers from many illnesses related to the first gulf war. He is eligible for 100% disability status from the VA, but he refuses it, because he would rather work. And I know people collecting disability cause of back problems, or having lost the end of a finger. SMH.

Jim Lincoln wrote:
Were there Christians in the Anglican Church at its beginning and a few scattered throughout it's history, yes, but was it ever Christian, no.
"He did so; delivered him to the secular power, who on the very same day led the blind boy (Thomas Drowry) to the place of execution at Gloucester, together with one Thomas Croker, a poor bricklayer, condemned also for the like testimony of the truth; when both, in one fire, most constantly and joyfully yielded their souls into the hands of the Lord Jesus." (scionofzion.com)

Jim
Thomas Drowry was a simple blind peasant boy who was burned at the stake for rejecting the Roman Catholic mass and its heresy. Thomas Croker again a simple bricklayer was burned for rejecting the Roman Catholic heresies.

They, by the grace of God were Anglicans.

Tell me Jim, have any of the IHCC members ever taken God's Holy Word to the point where they have given their life for it?

Can you justify, before God, the statement which you declare, 'that you and your brothers are better than the Anglican's?'

Where is the real struggle today?

Neil wrote:
You have a point there. I was assuming attendees were no more heedful of the duty to tithe than of other Scriptural injunctions, yet pastors tend to teach about tithing far more thoroughly than other subjects.
I agree, Neil. It's interesting that pastors who hold to "Grace, grace, all is grace," and indulge the sins of the sinner because it's all been paid for at the cross, and holiness and righteousness will come sometime in the future - but, not now! For these pastors to call for obedience in moral issues is sheer blasphemy - those cursed works - trying to add to one's salvation! How dare they!

These same pastors seem to fail to understand that that mindset correspondingly translates to one's giving of tithes and offerings.

The faithful give in good times and bad. The unfaithful give out of surplus, and most of the time not in proportion to their assets.

In times of tightening the belt, it would seem that the tithe would be the first to go.

He who is faithful in little (that would include every area of life), will be faithful in much.

Michael Hranek wrote:
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!"
This prompts the better question - "Who is the believer?"

Would those who hold to correct doctrine be the only ones saved?

Or, would those who know only that a Saviour came to die for the sins of man, and the person who repents of his sins?

Aren't we told that even the devils believe, but are not saved?

So, rather than the division being doctrinally debated. Why wouldn't the better debate be - "Who is a Christian?"

God honored KJV?

Doctor heal yourself.

When will we quit our lazy ways and stress the original languages, and not some version?

Only when we do this will God be honored.
