Luckily, one can look at multiple news sources to find out why the WND article is hyperbole. http://www.factcheck.org/2015/11/facts-about-the-syrian-refugees , for example.There, you can learn that a much bigger % of refugees are Sunni (and a smaller % Christian) than in the general population (something the WND doesn't mention). This is because: - the Assan regime bombs Sunni areas, and is the major cause of refugees. The regime includes non-Sunni minorities, like Christians. - Because ISIS takes over Sunni-dense areas, those area are being bombed. Sunnis don't want to live under ISIS, and don't like being bombed, so become refugees. - The UNHCR refers refugees to the US for relocation, so the U.S. (and therefore Obama's administration) doesn't actually choose the make-up of applicants to approve. |
