A very comprehensive sermon on the just and perfect and yes vindictive justice of God, as used to be taught, which is perfectly just and holy targeting his enemies and all unrepentant sinners because he is a judge and will by no means clear the guilty although he is slow to anger. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God who sees everything and accumulates evidence in his Heavenly Court where he needs no counselors. The wrath of man is arbitrary, vengeance is unjust because of corrupt nature that distorts judgment and even runs to shed innocent blood. There is no collateral damage with God's justice. It is perfectly aimed and unavoidable. By his wrath he's overthrown kingdoms, civilizations, and World superpowers so he will not look away from America's sins either. Bloodthirsty and corrupt Nineveh and Babylon are warnings as well as the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. as Jesus specifically prophecied.

“ Balance needed ”
While denouncing and demonstrating in Scripture things against false religion, abstaining from certain things, there are also scriptures denouncing sensuality, "make no provision for the flesh to satisfy the lust thereof", encouragements to fast at times, and warnings of false prophets as in Jude who are marked as sensual persons, in lifestyle. Esau sold his Birthright for some stew. We are taught by Paul to walk by the spirit and not according to the flesh, our body still have corrupt affections and desires and the spirit Wars against the Flesh and the flesh against the spirit. Both PETA and Vivek Ramaswamy as a Hindu both say it's wrong for people to kill and eat meat, and this seems to be increasing new morality.

If anyone hasn't been paying attention John Piper is a Woke pastor who has subtly introduced socialism into the conservative Baptist churches in particular, along with superficial New Calvinism, watering down Orthodoxy until it's finally degraded. Along with his social justice, based on human philosophy instead of the word of God, comes accommodation to tyrannical Authority and a misunderstanding of loving your neighbor, which is simply man-pleasing and politically easier. PC Christianity is the broadway that leads to destruction of both Christian Salvation and Liberty.

This thorough study in Exodus 15 destroys much of the teaching & concept of God in modern Evangelicalism and obliterates the God of the media-quoted Ivy League University professors! This is what is missing and what must be taught. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and there is no awareness of a need for salvation until the justice of God is seen and his power to both judge and save is demonstrated. Away with the false God of liberalism which is human fiction! Away with trying to separate the Lord Jesus in the New Testament from Lord God of the Old Testament, as if contrary or incompatible or different! You won't hear this from Joel Osteen or Tim Keller or read it in Christianity Today! Listen to all of it.

“ Great Teaching on the Trinity! ”
Pastor Butler's teaching here on the Trinity of the One True God is very helpful, thorough and practical in revealing from scripture, using the English Baptist Confession for assistance, the nature of the three persons in relation. He contrasts this doctrine against heresies such as Arianism, modalism, Oneness Pentacostalism demonstrating the Trinity is a sharp contrast from much of popular, superficial Christianity today. He includes helpful history on this doctrine. A bonus of a quick refutation & rejection of Socialism from a related text on the Holy Spirit is included. Butler is an excellent teacher, a true workman in the Bible, history, and exposition. Helpful!

Wow. This is the most thorough, researched and accurate exposition I've ever heard of Jesus suffering during his trial. Thoughtful, unsensationalized but vivid historic, textually revealing in detail from the inspired author of what we must know of what happened, fulfilling prophecy, many scriptured ref. The most unjust trial ever of the holy, harmless, undefiled Son of God, fully man. (This pastor is a workman in sermon prep and pulpit, gifted teacher. Pleasure to hear).

Writing this as I listen; again very powerful preaching by this pastor from John 1 regarding the deity of Christ, the centrality of that Doctrine in church. As he preaches he plows up the heresy of another Jesus today, of Jehovah's Witnesses, points to the scriptures of John the Baptist witness of him, recites historic creeds based on the two Johns, as Jesus is revealed as the Word, the Son of God, 2nd person of Trinity, cosubstantial, coequal yet distinguished with the Father and Spirit. Preaching, plowing, teaching, refuting the low estimation of this present evil age of who Jesus is. Worth hearing!

Strong preaching! The sermon is much broader and more comprehensive than the title suggests. This is not a simple how-to sermon. This is biblical exhortation and strong preaching about the need for men and fathers as active leaders in the church and in society today. Mention made of government overreach and persecution as well. This pastor is a doctinally sound, knowledgeable & powerful preacher! Best I've heard in years.

When you listen to John Piper's response to Ian Murray you also hear him misdefine Love of God, as if it is emotional "delight" and apart from obedience to God and his Laws, while love of God is measured by obedience. Heart and actions are inseparable in truth. These New Calvinists, like Piper, who appear as angels of light, also are marked by their Social Justice emphasis & total contrast with Justice of God by his laws and scripture. Mark them.

Very relevant and sharp message, especially from the context in 1973, a generation ago, during the hippie revolution, a foundational part of Peace and Love movement with its Marxist roots more evident in Woke evangelicalism today. The problem he identifies is the churches themselves and not much has changed. "The devil is not fighting churches he's joining them." This Baptist evangelist began in the original Baptist church in Charleston, SC that became the foundation of the SBC convention.

I especially appreciate his teaching about how God uses means and men as well as our own responsibility, too. The scripture referenced demonstrates much wisdom on this subject. This superficial look at passages of scripture is what has been addressed by patriot Scottish and American pastors in history. When earthly authority is ordained by God and to be obeyed it is legitimate authority, not usurpers or tyrants who exceed their own lawful bounds. Kings and gocernors are limited by Constitutions which are THE lawful authority to be obeyed. Check Knox, Covenanters, Cromwell vs. Charles I, American pastor sermons 1775. The Constiution, The Law is King. LEX REX by Samuel Rutherford. Please consider their interpretation of same scriptures.

Both the political and religious Pharisees and Sadducees (conservatives and liberals) will unite with Herod (political power) to persecute you if you stand for the Truth, the Justice of God (not fake social justice), and the real Jesus and his teachings (not the socialist's Jesus & gospel). Yes socialist doctrine has infiltrated churches more and more for a century and is climaxing now. Get ready to be tested if you haven't been already. He identifies the real problem toward the end, a partial gospel.

Another important message on this subject of Christians and government. Covid government policy is the immediate occasion being addressed but the principle is much broader. North Carolina churches won an injunction against the governor. Grace Community Church in California with John MacArthur is going through similar. This topic needs to be addressed in all churches. Christian Liberty and Doctrine is at stake.
