Dear Peaceful Valley Baptist Church,This post raises more questions than it answers. First of all, Baptist churches were around hundreds of years before Dispensationalism. How then, can you claim that the "Baptist" view is Dispensational?
I am a Baptist who does not believe in Dispentationalism. Am I NOT a Baptist because I deny this rather recent innovation? Baptists are by no means a lock-stepped army.
Are you sure you want to lump yourself in with the Dispensationalists? Afterall, in its original formulation, Dispensationalism taught that the Old Testament saints were saved by their works!
Additionally, there are Calvinists who do not hold the Covenant view of theology. John MacArthur is a glaring example of this! He is no Covenant Theologian! It is possible to be Calvinistic in Soteriology, yet not a Covenant theologian.
If you have questions about Reformed/Covenant Theology - ask them.
(I happen share your belief that believers are the only suitable candidates for the ordinance of Baptism.)
But do not launch these silly broadside attacks against entire swaths of the Christian Church... especially when you are so short on facts to prove your own case.
In Christ,
Jason Boothe
