John Yurich USA wrote: That is surprising that Nabors is a homosexual considering that he is a Baptist. I'm surprised at you implying that being a Baptist would make one immune. Only reliance on the Holy Spirit can do that. |

Northern Gadfly wrote: Nice speech - wonder who wrote it - her mother, her father, maybe a minister or priest? Not a 12 year old. Not Likely. And how many 12 years old and their writings do you know personally that you can make such a judgment? |

John Yurich USA wrote: I used to like Osteen but not anymore now that Osteen likes Obama. I find it rather sad that you dislike Osteen only because he likes Obama. I like Osteen as a motivational speaker but I do not accept him as a Christian leader. Their endorsement of Obama is a reflection of the shallowness of their acceptance of God's Word. They are false shepherds and this is further proof. janine wrote: Any person of God that lives better than their lowest flock member is a fake. Aren't you overstating a bit? Most pastors have secular jobs which may or may not pay more than that of "their lowest flock member" nor are they supported financially solely by their church (which would be a sad thing indeed if the church gave them so little support that they were lower than the lowest). And today, when so many have lost jobs, it's all too easy for the pastor to live "better than ..." so saying they're fake is a bit harsh. Granted there are all too many fakes preying on the naive but I wouldn't look askance at a pastor unless his economic position was truly disproportional to that of his flock. |

CMT wrote: The same infantile cry to ban divorce is the same which desired to ban slavery. Never mind the fact that while both are undesirable, the Word of God sanctions and regulates both. While God does indeed regulate divorce and slavery He never sanctions either. Those things come from man's corruption and His regulations provide relief from the worst abuses of them. |

John Yurich wrote: It is none of that priest's business how his parishioners voted. Of course it's his business! He's responsible for their spiritual well being. Part of his job description is maintaining spiritual standards and ensuring the congregation knows what those standards are and abides by them. I recommend you read 1 Corinthians 5 and consider Paul's reaction to a congregation acting like it was none of their business. |

A Democratic Conservative wrote: Well, you may ALL be Shocked to hear this; let alone read this: But The TRUTH & FACT of The Matter is That: Sarah Palin & Barack Obama BASICALLY Religiously, Spiritually & Biblically believe in The Same Thing(s)-- As BOTH are Members of Historic Orthodox Judeo-Christian Biblical-Literalist Protestant Fundamentalist Pentecostal Churches ! Sorry ADC, but membership doesn't necessarily equal holding the same beliefs. A member of a different denomination may have beliefs closer to oneself than a fellow member of one's own church. And the larger the congregation the wider the views. Nor does the historic nature of a church protect it from apostasy or heresy. One could say that Judas, a member of the Twelve, had BASICALLY the same beliefs as the other apostles yet he obviously didn't believe as the others did. BHO may not be a Muslim but he's definitely not a Christian either. |

Mark M. wrote: As an addict myself I know how hard it can be to break this thing. I need the computer for school and work so I compare it to an alcoholic who has to work at the town liqour store or bar. That being said if I ever, EVER were to be overpowered by that temptation at school or work you can bet I would possibly be suspended/put on probation from the school and fired on the spot from work. I say it's good of the church to give the pastor a chance to get over it and work with him, but I agree in any other profession he would be dismissed. It's not a question of the moral correctness of pornography (it is immoral though I do struggle with it)because the world really doesn't care what a person looks at on his own time, the thing that gets the person fired is using the company equipment and indulging in these things 'on the clock'. It's a real temptation though. Brother, you are in my prayers to stand strong against these temptations. Thank you for being courageous enough to confess it publicly. |

enough already wrote: Where in the bible does it say, 'if you are close to being a Southern Baptist, you may have eternal life? McCain isn't a member, but his wife is. So does he plan on riding on her 'spiritual coattail' through the pearly gates? None of the candidates are blood bought born again Christians. There is an urgent need for prayer concerning this upcoming election. Let us not neglect our duty to pray for this nation. |

Dr. Phil wrote: I wonder if N. T. Wright has considered the 2000+ verses that highlight God's sovereignty indicating that He is the ulitmate cause of evil. He does not sorrow over injustice nor poverty, but considers these to be necessary for His just purposes. Pray tell what 2000+ verses you're referring to "indicating that He is the ulitmate cause of evil"?! The cause of evil is man's pride, arrogance, and rebellion against God. I refer you particularly to James 1'13,14. I take great exception to you blaming God for man's folly! |

Jhawk44 wrote: I don't see why anyone in their right minds would celebrate easter by nailing themselves to crosses... I don't see why anyone in their right mind would celebrate easter. The Lord was neither killed at nor arose at easter. Rather He was killed at Passover (April 19 this year) then arose during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. That's when I'll celebrate the anniversary of His rising -- and without the eggs and bunnies nonsense. |
