You seem to have merged the humanity of Jesus with the deity of Christ beyond what the Bible teaches. Jesus Christ has two natures. He is fully God and fully man, but the two natures remain distinct. His humanity is not deity and His deity is not human. In his humanity He had the weaknesses of a man; in His deity He was all powerful. His humanity was limited, His deity infinite.

BE VERY CAREFUL!

Mt 19:3 "The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?"

Mt 19:4 "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that ——he which made them at the beginning made them male and female——,"

Mt 19:5 "And said, ——For this cause—— shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?"

Mt 19:6 "Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. ——What therefore God hath joined together——, let not man put asunder."

The relationship which God has established is the only valid one and the only one which He will bless. All others are but a perversion of the world and of the devil and are therefore condemned, and those who practice them are subject to God's eternal wrath. It's pretty plain:

1Co 6:9 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"

1Co 6:10 "Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Very good observation Lurker. I hadn't considered it from that perspective.

Don't all who come up with some supposed "new" revelation also exalt themselves above the very Word of God? This is just the same sort of thing... .

But, I guess, what can we really expect from someone who comepletely denies "eternal punishment"? He has already proved himself a heritic.

Camping not only denies truth, but he substitutes error for the truth! He has great reason to fear!

Rev 22:18 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:"

Rev 22:19 "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

Here is another example, folks, of filthy lucreism, those who try to make money out of their false religion. Obviously a modern-versionist only, and by his words he shall be condemned.

To the filthy lucreist: I freely and without charge counsel thee to consign thy multiplicity of modern versions to the fire and study the KJV for the benefit of thy soul and life. Thou shalt find God's word to be a lamp unto thy feet and a light unto thy path. (see Psalm 119:105) Then " Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved..." (see Acts 16:31)"

Jackson, sorry it took me so long to respond to your question. Concerning John UK's problem he wrote the following to me on 12/11/2010.

He has kept up with reading the individual posts. In all fairness to SA, John added later that he is not sure whether it is SA's problem or his computer's, such as a virus, etc. But it seems to me that if it were a virus it would affect much more than just his ability to post on SA. But I am not very computer savvy.

John Wycliffe translated his version of the bible from the Latin Vulgate; the translators of the Geneva Bible did not. Insisting that the translators of the GB used the LV, which was the Catholic Bible for several hundred years, doesn't make a bit of sense, even if it were true. Wycliffe's translation was actually a pretty poor translation because there are some words which still fit the Catholic system even translated into English from the Latin, such as "penance" instead of "repentance." The Geneva Bible was a "Reformation" bible, Wycliffe's translation was not, even though God used it mightily. I still wonder at the providence of God in Wycliffe's ministry.

I think you need to do a little history study Tony because it's impossible to defend the truth with error. You do more damage than good. I only use the KJV, but I cannot support your false claims. Show me any historical document which speaks of the Geneva Bible being translated from the Latin Vulgate and I'll join ranks with you, but I know you won't be able to find a lick of evidence to prove anything you've said. It seems to me that you are implying that the Geneva Bible is just a Catholic Bible in English. Did you know that the translators of the GB also used Tyndale's translation as did the KJV translators?

"We called in at the bus shelter, and had a great time talking to (Tony) about both his situation and his spiritual state. When we said we had a Bible to give him for his spiritual benefit, you'll never credit what he said. I'll give you his exact words. He said, "Is it an Authorized Version? That's the only one I can understand, really.

And when we replied in the affirmative, he was most happy to receive it with joy. We stayed quite a while talking to him then, and befriended him, and offered our assistance, which we have since been able to do. Tomorrow morning we are driving down to the bus shelter again to see him for a third time, and help him get his life in order..

Just thought you might like that true story.

You see, you wished me a great Lord's Day, brother!"

I'll try to keep everyone updated as I hear anything from John concerning this situation. Please pray for Tony and that we'll get John UK back on SA soon. Thanks!

Greetings all,

John UK from Wales has still not been able to post as some of you have probably noticed. I asked his permission to post something which he sent to me via email.

This last Saturday (1/1/2010) I had written a note to John UK and I closed it by saying, "Have a great weekend and a blessed Lord's day, my friend!" Below is his response yesterday (1/5/2010).

John wrote "...you may be interested in this event which occurred on the Lord's Day:

I took a friend to two Sunday services at different churches, but with the same preacher. On the way we passed a local bus shelter, residing in which was a youngish traveller, obviously suffering from the cold weather. We both decided to pay him a visit on our return, and see if we could be of assistance to him. At the afternoon service we asked the believers if there was any literature we could give to this chap, as well as try to help him find some accommodation. There was NOT A THING in the church! However, the visiting pastor (who is not a true-blue AV man) said he had four Bibles in his car, and we could have one to give to him, no problem. He was very interested, and is a good man of God. All four Bibles were gift-wrapped AV Bibles!!!!"

No! I disagree! An assumption on your part. The translators of the Authorized Version believed they were translating the very Word of God from the Hebrew and Greek text. I am sure they would defend the Scriptures, even their own translation, as compared with the corrupt modern translations, but they would probably use much better arguments. You need to remember that there were several versions available at the time they petitioned the King of England to translate a new version. Though they didn't debate concerning those other versions they did reject them all by default, in asking permission to produce a better translation. Those translators were not the kind of men who would sit by idly and watch as the Church was inundated with confusion and division, as it has been in our day. Those men were faithful men. Faithful to God; faithful to the original languages; and faithful to God's Church. Vastly different from those merchandisers who seek filthy lucre, and are faithful to nothing else. We may not argue well, but it is our duty to be light! God help us!

I have done a book by book study of the New Testament, except the book of Revelation, comparing the KJV with the NKJV, and I too came to the same conclusions as M. H. Reynolds. I was struck by how often the NKJV used the same exact words as the modern versions without any justification for doing so.

The NKJV also very often uses a different English word for the same Greek word which the KJV uses elsewhere; just shifting the English words around. If anyone were to check Strong's Concordance with the two versions they would easily find this to be true.

As some of you may have noticed, "John UK" has been absent for quite some time from Sermon Audio. I have had a little contact with him through email and he is currently having "technical difficulties." He has been communicating with Sermon Audio trying to find a solution to the problem, but obviously without any success. It is uncertain whether it is his own computer or whether SA has inadvertently blocked him (If that's the case, they have been unable to unblock him). He has kept up reading the posts but is unable to submit any posts himself. I, for one, really miss his input. And he misses inputting!

Please pray that this may be resolved soon.

Law is necessary because men are not generally self-governing creatures. In an absence of government there is always anarchy. Man also tends to corrupt that which in itself is not inherently evil. "Guns don't kill people..."

Mr 7:20 "And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man."

And:

Jas 1:13 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:"

Jas 1:14 "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."

Jas 1:15 "Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."

The Bible is always right!!!
