John Lee wrote: I remember reading a short treatise in booklet form back in the 80's, Adriel, and this post reminded me of it. It was also by John Owen, and was called "Indwelling Sin in Believers", and it had a picture of a thorny plant (I think it was a thistle) on the front cover. It is a very sobering subject, especially because of the warfare that it produces inwardly, and therefore also outwardly.
I'm reading a book at the moment called "Triumph over Temptation" a compilation of John Owens work taken from three treatises.
This is where I got the quote to begin with. "Sin as enmity against God"
It s pretty powerful that the same sin within each one of us is powerful enough to take on God Himself. We poor creatures have very little chance to contend with sin - Until God provides the Holy Spirit to indwell.
But it demonstrates how evil and powerful sin is in mankind which destroys the heart and mind of mortals and results in this abomination of trans-genderism.
Hope all is well with you down there in Welsh Wales Boyo.
The papal antichrist has been sitting in office for centuries.
The Antichrist [cap 'A'] we are expecting to take over the world is not here yet. Liberalism seems a perfect environment and influence for the Antichrist to work within. Liberalism and its deception of the unsaved is working even as we speak.
As for coronavirus? I don't think it is quite the powerful statement to complete the job.
Rom 7:23 ... bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."
The terrible and powerful 'Law of sin' in mortals. This "trans" obsession in sinners is sin in action against the person. It is "enmity" against all that is good including GOD.
"SIN as ‚ÄúENMITY AGAINST GOD‚ÄĚ
But it is not simply that sin is ‚Äúenmity,‚ÄĚ by its nature, but that it is enmity against God. It is true that indwelling sin opposes our very soul (1 Peter 2:11) as well as the principle of spiritual growth instilled within us by the constant operation of the Spirit of God (Gal 5:17), but indwelling sin is primarily opposed to God himself. It opposes the grace of God within us, but is primarily set against God himself.
It is its [i.e., indwelling sin] work to oppose grace; it is a consequent of its work to oppose our souls, which follows upon what it doth more than what it intends; but its nature and formal design is to oppose God,‚ÄĒGod as lawgiver, God as holy, God as the author of the gospel, a way of salvation by grace, and not by works,‚ÄĒthis is the direct object of the law of sin." (from; John Owen. 'Temptation)
This is a very powerful enemy inside us all. A "Captivity" of each one of us.
The Liberalist PC Illuminati are working to indoctrinate the future generations so that they allow all sins to be acceptable to the establishment. ‚ÄėChoice‚Äô will be dictated and allowed by the new establishment oligarchy.
Sodom and Gomorrah is being established as the new United Nations of world affairs. Their task will be to dictate the new ‚Äėmoral‚Äô position of relativism for all people. Thus NO absolute authority of any kind in the nations. God and religion will only be allowed to affect the Remnant. The rest of the world will do whatever they choose to.
If a person wants to join a university or college then they must accept the Amoral standards of the PC Liberalists in all participation of educational life and society.
The Bible will by necessity have to becomes restricted reading controlled by bureaucracy and a government. Aspects of the Scriptures will be removed, even deleted, to accommodate the new world order.
Pakistan demonstrates lack of civilization and lack of knowledge and learning. Human choice about their own life is a mark of civilization and progress. Murder on the basis of disagreement is hate filled ignorance and certainly not the basis of civil life in society. Again we see that the Muslim ideology in the world is based upon hate, hostility, resentment, malice and lawlessness.
Thus do we discern Satan in the Muslim religion.
Christ Jesus, the Son of God teaches:- Matt 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, FOR MY SAKE."
Michael Hranek wrote: I find few outside a clinic, witnessing of Christ, pleading with the mothers do not do this horrible thing, that there is a God, who is good, ready to forgive, abounding in mercy to all who call upon Him
What you are doing outside the clinic is 'demonstrating' against the SIN of man. Where in Scripture do you get that concept from?
The catalyst which brings you to the clinic is sin. Any change in the person you speak to has to come from God and His dealing with His elect.
So what is it you are trying to achieve?
Presumably to save the life of one of the millions of unborn children aborted. And perhaps bring the adult sinners involved to Christ? Does this work of yours prepare the sinner for salvation by God's election?
Question; Has God taken you to that place to meet with one of the elect to effect His purpose?
Or is this a public demonstration, on your part, to carry out God's work? (Social gospel)?
Since in your post you appear to renounce Calvin and those who agree with his teachings, (because they are not helping you there) are you doing what is called works based religion?
‚ÄúIf it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house, then in a field,...it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it has come to light.‚ÄĚ ‚Äē John Calvin
