True enough Carl, the mainstream media cannot publish any positive news if in any way, Republicans or President Donald Trump might use it for their credit. I think the left's academics are looking for ways to explain away this news, like saying that it means only that more rich people are living in cities, and poor people are being forced out (gentrification).
Interesting that this comes from the National Review's website. Of course, few people are buying or subscribing to their magazine, though they still have to pay nearly 2 million bucks each year in salaries for their top honchos.
I don't see too many women driving tow trucks either, nor are they working as roofers or construction workers. Anyone complaining about that? Same thing happens with the crime problem: if you use the facts--crime statistics-that show mostly blacks are killing whites and others in states like Virginia, you will be asked to leave the room and called a bad word---'racist' All you did was add 2 plus 2 to get 4. Baltimore is just an example of what happens when lots of blacks have guns and use them, mostly on each other. But ask the YMCA there about their young white employee who was shot and killed by blacks at his front door. Don't stop at Baltimore, though, you can go south to Coral Gables, Florida and ask about a jewelry robbery there, commmitted by 2 armed black felons, who hijacked a UPS truck and had the driver take them north until traffic (on a busy Friday afternoon before Christmas)jammed up and a shoot-out ensued with result-2 blacks dead by police and unfortunately, the UPS driver and a bystander.
Here's a good New Year's Tradition that is easy to follow: get out your monthly calendar and mark every second Tuesday of each month as "MS Update" That way, you will be prepared for it and not plan on doing any complicated work using your computer on those days, or shortly after. A friend tells me that in his govt sector job, they would not update their computers on that day, but wait a couple weeks to make sure all the bugs have been worked out.
'Welcome to My World' where wrong is right and right is wrong (and penalized, as in the case of the 16-yr prison sentence meted out to the guy who took down a 'rainbow' flag and burned it). But black women in Brooklyn who assault Orthodox Jewish women are let free.
Say, "JD from Florida" I hear that many US retirees are moving abroad. I think Phillipines is having a sale on homes, if you don't mind moving a couple feet of volanic ash off the roof.
Imagine the amount of carbon dioxide and other gasses being added to the environment! Philippines should be fined by the UN for allowing such pollution to occur. What will Alexandria Occasional Cortex say?
Another movement in govt is to reduce or eliminate enforcement of 'petty' crimes, like jumping the gates at subway stations. Politicians are now saying all transit should be free because the reality is that the few bucks each fare costs does not make up much of the transit system's budget.
But he is on the wrong side of the immigration issue, siding with Open Borders advocates. Check out Ann Corcoran's website, Refugee Resettlement Watch for more info (click on little house above this post).
One thing that is not complicated is that Muslims Mission Statement--Conquer the World--by sword, if necessary, by any means necessary. Christians have a Mission Statement--to spread the gospel to all men everywhere, so no one has the excuse--I wasn't told! But that's it. It's not our job to convert anyone to Christianity; we let the Holy Spirit do that work. Anyone who watches Dr. Michael Yousseff from Atlanta knows that Muslims also have the Corollary to their Mission Statement: that everyone is their enemy, unless they are Muslim (and even then, there are fights over who is a True Muslim, and part of the Middle East mess is due to this). The govt TV network PBS aired a special about how Wonderful Spain was when Muslims, Jews and Christians lived peacefully together. Really? Were Christians and Jews free to do artwork that depicted a human or animal form, like Michaelangelo's David sculpture? Didn't they have to pay the 'dhimmi' tax to Muslims for not being Muslims?
This shows you the importance of our President Donald Trump's work on appointing new judges, and 'The Turtle' Sen. McConnell holding up Obama's judicial appointments, so that lots of spaces would be available for the next president.
He would be happy in Seattle, where one of the candidates' campaign planks is to get rid of the police. No police, no police violence, no police surveillance (well, if your phone is not made in China by Huawei, with all the spying stuff in it)
Not good news, but like the other one about more women in the workforce, it is a Matter of Prayer. We live in a world that has no respect for the clear guidelines of the Bible. Instead, they promote their own causes--sodomy, global warming, etc--and criminalize anyone who objects. John Derbyshire noted that a man is serving 16 yrs in prison for having burned a flag that represents the sodomite cause. They object to anyone who suggests that even what secular thinkers said, 'the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world,' is like the Bible's Guidelines for Older Women (1 Timothy 5). Paul used a poet of his day "In him we move, and live and have our being" not to promote that poet but to further his point about who God is.
Didn't Krushchev memorize a lot of the Bible (in Russian, no easy language)? He didn't turn out to be a nice fellow at all. And then, I've heard the international championship of Scrabble is usually won by Pakistani or Indians who memorize lots of the words they use (not the 7-letter words you get a bonus for, but small words you can use with a tile or two) but do not speak English. I am still of the opinion that education should be practical, a prep for becoming an adult. I would take parts of the federal tax form 1040 and break it down for kids to practice with during math classes. The page dealing with qualified dividends is a real gem of math instructions...if line 24 is greater than the sum of lines 12 and 13, divided by 8, then...
Well, I might sympathize with ending support of FCA--Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The name itself sounds like an oxymoron since athletes seem to be getting into a lot of trouble with the law. Even a non-violent sport like golf has its Tiger Woods. And then we all know college athletics are just a prep for professional leagues. Maybe a better group to support would be the Fellowship of Christian Bus Drivers, or the Fellowship of Christian Bakers.
Sounds like a good place to send Pelosi to, since she is not likely to accept her Biblical role in raising children as described in 1 Timothy 5.
Seriously, though, I would say that, in contrast to 'The heavens declare the Glory of God' most news of an astronomical nature seems bent on denying there is a God at all. Many will use this item to say, see, there are many many many planets out there that could have conditions like ours, so we are not special and all your God-talk is an invention of your own!
'Welcome to My World' could be the subtitle of this news item. Very sad news though, and one comment below about who is taking care of the children is well put. I would like to answer that with 1 Timothy 5, that the grannies are staying home to take care of the children, but I do not think that is much the case. Are they teaching and leading the young women in church like the Bible says?
I think the Bible says God created them without any clothes. They were 'naked and not ashamed' meaning they formed the first NANA group. Paul says that we should throw off everything that entangles us, after watching the Greek athletes of his days who competed without clothes on. And who can forget the gyms in the YMCA, full of naked male bodies. No wonder the 'men who prefer men' liked to hang out there!
So right about not having an audience, and only a website like WND-World Nut Daily--are there to cover it. But then, even Jimmy Swaggart is still on TV, though maybe it's channel 237 on your 500-channel system. He is just mentioning the President of the United States in a feeble attempt to get back into the Mainstream News Cycle, and even then, I wonder that is true of his 'handlers' who then told him to say this. Maybe they also saw the Miami rally at a megachurch and the one near Orlando at another church.
