“ To Robert Campanro ”
Perhaps the part 2 you are looking for is the one titled "America's Response to 9/11 Pt2" (Dividing Line 2001, 09/22/01). I noticed that there is no part 1 by that title & "America's Response..." comes right after "A Sober Word..." which has no part 2 by that title. Hopefully this is the one you wanted.

Sermon:
Hitching Ourselves to the Old Testament
Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr.

“ An Excellent Presentation! ”
The speaker is not Al Mohler. He is Jon Akin, director of Young Leader Engagement at the North American Mission Board of the SBC. He gives some very good reasons as to why we cannot -- in our minds -- "divorce" (my word) the New Testament from the Old Testament. (My question: Aren't They joined by inspiration into one Holy Book?) Thank you, Bro. Jon for this very good presentation.

“ Excellent Message about the Gospel! ”
Thank you, Bro. Patrick for this excellent message about how the truth of the Gospel does NOT make the Lord's own (the Christian) want/desire to practice lawlessness.

“ Troubling con't ”
What is also troubling is when we either minimize or ignore the large clay feet/the sin issue in a person's life (life Martin Luther's anti-Jews sentiment, or certain people's -- black, white, or otherwise -- ancestral pride). As to the brother whose chest seems to be puffed out with Anglo-Saxon pride, I want to throw some names his way: Margaret Sanger, Charles Darwin, Christopher Hitchens, Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russell, Aleister Crowley, The Rolling Stones, Bill and Hillary Clinton. However, the sin nature of humans is not dominant among any one people group. Even we Christians -- the race of the saved -- rather than fight the flesh, have those moments when we are pampering it, when we do things such as cater to our pride. How do I know? Because I've been discipline enough times to know. And God, like any good parent, doesn't chasten you for doing right.

“ Troubling ”
God will use who He wants, when He wants, where He wants, how He wants, for as long as He wants. There are some people in history that we have more information about them then others in the same time period, and some folks that were more influential, like Peter and James among the Jews, and Paul among the Gentiles. What is called "The Reformation" is a certain period in history where God used His human instruments to shape and change things. Some people He used more prominently than others. What is troubling is when people give the human instruments more elevation/more attention than the God Who used them, when there is the "pedestal" placement of these folks in our hearts/minds. If not on guard, even Christians are subject to idol worship -- and they may not recognize what they're doing. (Thank you, Bro. Saiko, for pointing out a form of idol worship: the man-created images of Jesus that we accept as the way Jesus looks, be the artwork white, black, or otherwise. (And some artwork is a human form of God the Father!))

“ Great Teaching! ”
Bro. Sean, thank you for letting me sit in your class via SermonAudio. Your illustrations were understandable. I now know what earned income tax credit is about, the tax breakdown, etc., how rewarding folks for not working, like subsidizing farmers, is not biblical; it "produces" laziness.

“ I Could Sign My Name to This ”
Even though this meeting was uploaded two years ago this is so worth listening to now because of "The Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel" that many are signing. Bro. Sean, thank you for pointing out that there is a social justice that's Biblical. You are right, the term "social justice" has been hijacked, the meaning changed.

Sermon:
A New Heaven and a New Earth
Brian Borgman
1
comment
“ Where the Lord Will Be is 'Heaven' ”
I have a friend who can only think of eternity in heaven. She said that she can't think about living on earth, even with the Lord being here. It seems it's more about the place than the Person. In truth, we grew up with the prevailing question being: "Don't you want to go to heaven?" And of course we did. But I'm understanding now that whether in heaven or on earth the quality of life will be absolutely fantastic because the Lord will be there.

The article stated that both the Associated Press and USA Today refuted her claim, one saying that is was "vastly overstated" and the other saying her statement was "dramatically exaggerated":

"Both cited research from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute to refute her claim:

"The Guttmacher Institute, which supports abortion rights, cites estimates in a 2003 report that 200,000 to 1.2 million illegal abortions were performed in the 1950s and 1960s in the U.S. The report says the number of deaths from illegal abortion dropped from just under 1,700 in 1940 to just over 300 by 1950 and a little under 200 by 1965. The Supreme Court established a constitutional right to abortion in the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

"Feinstein spokeswoman Ashley Schapitl explained the error in a comment to USA Today, saying, 'She meant to cite just the number of illegal procedures, not deaths.'"

Also, a 1972 Center for Disease report noted 39 deaths from abortions in the year prior to "Roe."

Hey, doesn't her statement qualify as "fake news?"

Also from the article:

"Just as important, though, is the fact that an abortion is never a safe procedure. Its very purpose is to kill a unique, living unborn baby, and about 60 million of them have been killed in abortions since 'Roe'."

Excellent message about "responses of fear" vs. "responses of faith." Thank you for this sermon, Bro. Brian. I was not disappointed. :-)

“ Great Teaching and Just Wondering... ”
Coming across this, Bro. Sean, is timely as I've been thinking about some things lately. Is it just my opinion or does anyone else see that the base/foundation of the "white privilege" and the feminist ideologies is covetousness? And no, I'm not white or a male.
