"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship"
(Taken from Romans 12:1)

Quote:-
"The word of God does not leave out the body in holy worship. That service only is acceptable to God which is according to the written word. It must be gospel worship, spiritual worship. That is a reasonable service which we are able and ready to give a reason for, in which we understand ourselves. God deals with us as with rational creatures, and will have us so to deal with him. Thus must the body be presented to God." (M.Henry)
___________

Quote:-
Why do we do what we do when we gather as a congregation of Christ each Lord’s Day?
I’m not asking why we gather to worship the Lord, or even why we meet on Sunday. I’m asking why we worship in the way that we worship – and why we worship differently than others worship. It’s important that we know. If we don’t understand why we do what we do, then one of two things must be true: either we’re worshipping this way simply because we’ve always done it this way – that is, because of tradition – or we simply don’t care how we worship. Neither option is healthy." (Doug Barnes)(hillsurc.com)

Repentance, By Thomas Watson.

"It is a great duty incumbent upon Christians to solemnly repent and turn
to God: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Mat 3.2); “Repent therefore, and be converted so that your sins may be blotted out” (Act 3.19); “Repent of your wickedness” (Act 8.22). In the mouths of
three witnesses this truth is confirmed. Repentance is a foundation grace: “Not laying again the foundation of repentance” (Heb 6.1). That religion which is not built upon this foundation must fall to the ground."

"Repentance is a pure gospel grace. The covenant of works allowed no repentance; there it was: sin and die. Repentance came in by the gospel. Christ has purchased us with his blood so that repenting sinners shall be saved. The law required personal, perfect, and perpetual obedience. It cursed all who could not come up to this: “Cursed is everyone that does not continue to do all things which are written in the book of the law” (Gal 3.10). It does not say, “He that does not obey all things, let him repent;” instead, it says “let him be cursed.” Thus repentance is a doctrine
that has been brought to light only by the gospel"

(The Doctrine of Repentance) (T.Watson)

Watson, (and the historic Church) was not 'wrong' about Repentance.

This national aberration of "trans-genderism" is becoming a pandemic alongside sodom and gomorrah Liberalism.

The satanic world of the reprobate is becoming a swamp for PC iniquity and rebellion against all that is Biblical and normal.

Jude :7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities."

""The Vatican stated on Monday that it is “morally acceptable” for Roman Catholics to take COVID-19 vaccines based on research that uses cells from aborted children.""

More confirmation, if it was needed, that the Vatican, Pope and RCC are not Biblical, not orthodox and has not received the gift of Grace that is Faith.

2Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

"Repentance" has nothing to do with this generation apologising for history.
That is ridiculous.

Doctrine of Repentance.

"The two great graces essential to a saint in this life are faith and repentance. These are the two wings by which he flies to heaven. Faith and repentance preserve the spiritual life just as heat and radical moisture presserve the natural. The grace which I am going to discuss is repentance.

Repentance is purgative; do not fear the working of this pill. Strike your soul, said Chrysostom; strike it and it will escape death by that stroke. How happy it would be if we were more deeply affected with sin, and our eyes swam in their orb. We may clearly see the Spirit of God moving in the waters of repentance, which though troubled, are yet pure. Moist tears dry up sin and quench the wrath of God. Repentance is the cherisher of piety, the procurer of mercy. The more regret and trouble in spirit we have first at our conversion, the less we shall feel afterwards." (Thos. Watson)(Repentance)

""as Xi Jinping and the Communist Party gradually prepare for what seems like a final assault to try to rid Christianity from the country once and for all.""

May the Lord God continue to build and revive His Church in China.

May HE provide the Faith, Grace and strength to His servants at this time of trial and tribulation.

God bless His disciples in the world at this terrible time of satanic attacks.

2Cor 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for MY STRENGTH IS MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

All Glory to GOD in His infinite mercy. Amen.

The Church of England has not followed the Word and Law of GOD in the Bible for many years now.

Their religion is PC Liberalism and therefore worldly to say the least.

Thus the CofE is not a Biblical church and is the voice of the antichrist - NOT the voice of Jesus Christ.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

v24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants."

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

The Guardian newspaper is of course one of Satan's Liberalist PC peddlers of today's radical politically correct brain washing in Britain.

The demonic influences we experience through sin and wickedness, referred to as "rulers of darkness" (Eph 6:12) in the world, use the Guardian and other Liberalist media. Their job is to convince and confound the reprobates into thinking that God the Bible and normal traditional ethics are wrong, offensive and discriminatory. Ultimately they are trying to convince mankind that sin is acceptable and there is no absolute authority; - Such as God.

Indoctrination is their method. To eliminate Christian orthodox doctrines they will accuse them of discrimination against Sodom and Gomorrah and aberrations such as trans-gender.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Thus:-
Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness."

"...we see secret compacts, poisonings spittings, malices, treasons, and wicked practices. To be brief, we see some so devilish that they fling themselves altogether headlong, as though they meant to make war willfully against God. These are things that may astonish us. And although we are dull, yet we ought to have some remorse when we see things to be so disorderly in the world. Nevertheless, St. Paul says that if we consider what is done, and how all things are turned upside down, and what license the world takes to itself to resist God, it behooves us to apply the same to ourselves and to conclude thus: The same could happen to me, and just as much as I see to be the case in them that are most wretched."

"Let us never condemn the sin, then, that we see everywhere, without considering at the same time that if God had not checked us, we would have fallen as deeply as we see others have fallen; and therefore let it stir ourselves up immediately to pray God that he lead us not into temptation, [Matt 6:13] and let us acknowledge God's infinite goodness, in that it pleases him to check us in such a way that we do not fall into the horrible pits that we see all around us" (J.Calvin)
(Sermon on Eph 2:1-5)

Matt 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always."

In the western nations where the struggle for Christ by His followers has gone on for two millennium, Jesus has been with us. If He had not been there we would not have got through the struggle.

Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;"

“The Scriptural Answer
(Total Depravity)??

The scriptural answer to that question makes evident the utter futility of the schemes of social reformers for "the moral elevation of the masses," the plans of politicians for the peace of the nations, and the ideologies of dreamers to usher in a golden age for this world. It is both pathetic and tragic to see many of our greatest men putting their faith in such chimeras. Divisions and discords, hatred and bloodshed, cannot be banished while human nature is what it is. But during the past century the steady trend of a deteriorating Christendom has been to underrate the evil of sin and overrate the moral capabilities of men. Instead of proclaiming the heinousness of sin, there has been a dwelling more upon its inconveniences, and the abasing portrayal of the lost condition of man as set forth in Holy Writ has been obscured if not obliterated by flattering disquisitions on human advancement. If the popular religion of the churches—including nine-tenths of what is termed "evangelical Christianity—be tested at this point, it will be found that it clashes directly with man's fallen, ruined and spiritually dead condition.“ (A W Pink)

Looker on wrote:
Oh dear, looks like Adriel doesn’t comprehend Federal Headship. 🤦‍♂️
"The idea of federal headship is not explicit in the Bible; that is, the Bible nowhere calls Adam our representative. Federal headship is simply a way some scholars have chosen to speak about Adam’s, and then Christ’s, involvement in the destiny of humanity."

"The weakness of federal headship is that it is an interpretive tool, not an explicitly biblical truth. Romans 5 does not say that Adam was the representative of the human race, only that “by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man” (Romans 5:17). God never says exactly how the transference of the sin nature occurred, only that it did occur."

Mike wrote:
It just doesn't say she was the source of it. It was entirely up to Adam to do what God commanded, thus he is the source, just like Romans 5:12 says.
Good point Mike.

However I do find it difficult to conclude that Eve was completely innocent, - from Paul's statement. And the way which the events turned over in the Garden.
(And Satan too)

1. Satan tempted Eve. (something happened)
2. Eve disobeys God's command.
3. Eve tempts Adam.
4. Adam accepts Eve's offer.

Alas we are not privy to all the discussions in the Garden.

Rom 5:12 Appoints Adam(man) as the provocateur. (opposite Christ) - NOT Eve. Thus provides support for 1Tim 2:13 where Adam is nominated prime candidate!

""First, the professing believer is defying and rebelling against an explicit command of the New Testament of God.""

Baloney!!!

Chapter seven as QC points out below, actually refers to a marriage between a believer and an unbeliever - 1Cor 7:12ff.
Therefore in GOD's eyes this is a situation which HE accepts.

So lets stick to the ONE Book which God wrote and not Pipers sundry reflections.

Also an UNbeliever may be one of the elect not yet converted. Thus a saved person pending. One of God's servants.

Piper apparently is narrowing the field of God's providence.

Mike wrote:
Hello Adriel, Adam was directly and personally commanded that he shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and was given this command before Eve was created. The responsibility then was on him from that point on.
Hi Mike;
But:-
1Tim 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

The sin which Eve committed surely started the whole ball rolling.
"being deceived (She) was in the transgression"

It's an interesting question to ask, 'Why Satan picked Eve to tempt' - And not Adam?
Perhaps he knew Eve was the weaker vessel. (1Peter 3:7).

Is gender involved in God's choice of which sin started the sinful existence of mankind?

Is the whole cataclysm that is sinful life on earth - the woman's fault?
