Mike wrote: In keeping with the latest brilliance we saw regarding guns, perhaps a 10 day waiting period will be required before you can buy a TV, while a background check is run on you. Then it will have to be registered with the police. That way if it is stolen, used in a crime, and disposed of, it can be traced back to you. The number of channels will be limited, so as to protect our children from predatory programming. The TV will only be allowed to have two pointed corners, as long as they aren't too pointed. We must take precaution against the possibility that someone may throw it at someone, by limiting the number of ways the victim could be hurt. These are common-sense requirements, and in no way interfere with the right to have a TV. Look, I'm all I'm favor of owning TVs in your own home. I'm even a TV owner! All I'm saying is that we must have common sense TV laws. Nobody needs a TV in public. Let's make it a 5 year penitentiary crime to have a TV within 1,000 feet of school property or property that is at that time being used by a school. Bunch of vigilantes... |

there is hope wrote: As for personal protection from all these gun-toting criminals, well I've been all over the world, even to the USA, and never held or used a gun. Amazin eh? I'm glad you didn't get hurt, but there are plenty of other people who are glad that someone was carrying. For instance, the people in the mall in Oregon are glad that the shooter was stopped by another armed patron. Didn't hear about that on the news, did you? Likewise with the Trolley Square shooting in 2007 that was stopped by an armed patron. Since your experience was good, I guess we don't need police, huh? I mean, if you were not the victim of a crime, nobody ever will be. I'm assuming you weren't hospitalized when you visited either, so we can get rid of hospitals. Better yet, would you please list the services you used so we know what the only services are that we should retain? Do you have any active insurance policies? |
