gg, do you think this 'lyn' is the only one who opposes your apostate teaching?!
Anyway, where did Christ state the last supper was a 'mass'? Also how in the world is the Holy Spirit, whom Christ promised would come, the birth of an apostate religion? You have no scriptural support, just a twisted interpretation by a denomination known as the RCC.
You need to read how the Holy Spirit is given, again, not to an entire 'group', but instead to a lost sinner. When God saves the lost soul, He then seals that new believer with His Spirit. It is GOD who does this, NOT a church. You give mortal man authority that the bible says they do not have.
The Lord's supper was NOT instituted by Christ as a ritual, but instead, as a remembrance for the price paid for sin. THAT is scriptural

gg, can you show us from scripture where the history of a specific Roman and Greek church existed, using the terminology you use?
Also, most of the world believes in the 'universal' teaching of evolution; does universal teaching mean absolute truth? Because a vast majority believe what a certain group has proclaimed to be truth, does that mean it is true? Does God have the final say so? Scripture teaches that the Holy Spirit is the one who illuminates truth, individually, as God calls the lost sinner to Christ. Since God calls us on an individual basis, wouldn't it stand to reason that He also reveals truth in like manner? After all, if all we needed to believe was written and taught by man, then why bother with the bible?

Guinness,
Let us pray for the millions of lost souls just like gg who, by thinking they are saved, are the most dangerous kind. Let us pray for the half-hearted approach the world has when it comes to sin, the lack of seriousness, the misunderstanding of what the end result is, and most importantly, God's extreme white hot hatred of it.
May the Lord richly bless you friend

Let us never gloss over the grievous acts of sin, no matter where it comes from. This story is not one that should be glanced over with a flippant attitude...it should break hearts that sin is so rampant in our society...especially in this 'so called church'. It should cause us to cry out to God to break the hearts of these men caught in the enslavement of sin. Where is the heart of Christ here? It seems a tad selfish to have the 'it doesn't concern me' attitude. And we wonder why the true church is so ineffective.

gg, You make light of this sin, bringing up the number of overall priests and stating out of that number, only 4 have done wrong! You who claim to believe in Christ, yet think it's no big deal when sin is exposed. You defend it by comparison. You are a product of corrupt theology, false doctrine, and loyalty to man. You are blinded by the very doctrine you claim saves, yet, by your words, you reveal what really lies inside. What does 'a new creation in Christ' mean in the RCC doctrine?

Sentinel;
I apologize for the delayed response. To be honest, I am trying to 'break the habit' of posting here because of the divisiveness it brings, and the time it consumes. I agree with you, it is a habit that we should break. Our time would be better spent studying the word of God. Also, there are many senseless ramblings posted here that, if read, again wastes precious time. I do pop in from time to time, but I pray to change that as well.
Why do people post? Good question. I personally have been brought to the point of anger on more than one occasion, upon realizing that is usually the end result for me, I think it best to stay away from these boards. Very little edification results from many postings. Praying for some folks here is, I believe, much more satisfying to the Lord.
May the Lord bless all who belong to Him with love for one another; may we all grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Sentinel; it is true the Baptist denomination is infiltrated with apostasy, as is all denominations.
Praise the Lord, the church I attend still preaches the word, expounding the scriptures each Sunday. It isn't perfect, but God has blessed us with a preacher who has truly been called, and has the fear of the Lord within his heart.
For the most part, pulpits all across America are filled with man-centered preaching, ear tickling preachers, pastors, ministers, reverends, priests...who just give the people what they want to hear. "They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. They keep saying to those who despise me, 'the Lord says you will have peace'; and to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts, they say, 'no harm will come to you'.
"But, if they had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds". Jeremiah 23:17, 22

There definitely is a famine in America, the famine of true, biblical preaching with reverent fear of the Lord; expository preaching of the Word of God.

Vogue; you seem to set yourself up as judge and jury; we cannot be for certain of Reagan's, or any mans final destination. Christ can save a lost soul on their deathbed. You accuse others of assumptions, yet you yourself seem to assume quite a bit. It is always best to remember Christ is the Head, we must humbly walk with our God, and this is a daily denial of 'self'.
Let's stick with what we are all called to do, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ; leave the labeling of folks to those who like to do such. We need to pray for others, not label and judge them. It doesn't matter if one is Dem., Rep., or Indy. If they haven't been saved by the grace of God, and cleansed by the blood of Christ; if they are not a new creation in Christ; the only thing they truly are is l-o-s-t; & in desperate need of hearing the gospel, being prayed for.

Banned; No, that isn't what my post said at all. The story was based on the Muslims, including Iran's Ahmadinejad being happy over Obama's election {my opinion was NOT even expressed on this issue}. No where in my post did I say anything relating to Obama and special favors towards Muslims.
You always somehow direct all your responses back to hating Jews, and defending Muslims. One would be tempted to ask you what is YOUR motive Banned?

Banned; AGAIN, I ask, where did I state, in the words you give, such a comment?
My post from 11/6 in NO WAY comes close to what you are insinuating! Where in that post did I say I feared Obama would ease off Muslims?
You take other people's comments out of context, twisting to fit your unsettling views.

You accuse, cause division, spew out hatred towards Jews, and at the same time profess Christ?!? You must be prayed for, your fate is on shaky ground.
Your beliefs are hard to grasp. You seem to be fearful of future events, where is your faith? You go off on rampages about WW III; why do you fear what may happen?

Banned; Would you refer me to my comment where you claim I have stated a fear that Obama would ease off on the Muslims? I have no clue what you are talking about!
All your postings do indeed confirm suspicions of you being a supporter of anti-semitism.
You cannot call yourself a 'Christian' and have hatred in your heart towards anybody, in your case, the Jewish people. Your postings give away what lies in your heart. "For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks" Luke 6:45 You speak with a forked tongue

Banned's constant anti-semitism is frightening. To all who speak positively of the Jews, he accuses of being racist and zionists. He claims to be a 'Christian', yet his insane postings spill out all kinds of hate, especially towards the Jewish people. With that said, how can one claim Christ, yet have such hate in his heart?
It is advisable to avoid people with this kind of mentality, they are impossible to reason with. Pray for this person, there is definitely something noticeably wrong.

BYSNE-According to the words of Christ, 'a good tree bears good fruit, a bad tree bears bad fruit'. A bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Though a Christian sins and stumbles, their life is characterized by good fruit, not thorns and thistles. A person is either in the flesh or in the Spirit, they are either regenerate or unregenerate. Those in the Spirit are alive in the realm of the Holy Spirit, God is Spirit and is accessible ONLY in the Spirit. To understand regeneration, you must be born from above. Those who do not understand cannot understand because they are still spiritually dead {1 Cor. 2:14-16} This is why what I say makes no sense to you.

Doctrine and behavior has everything to do with Lance's comment. You fail to understand the doctrines of justification and regeneration. A born again believer is a NEW creation, a NEW man; one that is freed from the bondage of sin; the violent actions of these monks prove they are unregenerate, not to mention the doctrine they adhere to.
Your defending them says much about your own belief system, whether you acknowledge it or not.
Read this carefully; "I will give you a NEW heart and put a NEW spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and CAUSE YOU to WALK in MY STATUTES, and you will be careful to observe my ordinances. Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will LOATHE yourselves in YOUR OWN SIGHT for your iniquities and your abominations" Ezekiel 36:starting with verse 25

I accept NO Commendation from ANYONE. I am a worthless wicked sinner saved because God looked upon me with favor, He drew me to Christ, and broke my prideful heart. He humbled me and saved me, and I boast only in the Gospel of Christ. That's the difference between a born again believer and someone who has some form of 'religion'. To neither deny nor affirm Christ is to still be in your sins. Read Revelation 3:14-22. A 'new creation' in Christ means one is NO LONGER what they once were, there is a DRASTIC change that has taken place, all by His power. Keep your stuffy religion, I'll keep my Jesus, who loved me and gave Himself for me, cleansed me with His blood, and is transforming me each moment into His image. May He be forever praised!!

Your avoidance of this question says MUCH!!!! A lover of Christ would jump at the chance to tell the story of the gospel. May God humble your sinful heart, bring you to your knees, and cause you to cry out "O GOD HAVE MERCY ON ME, for I am a wicked, vile lost sinner without any hope"........I pray for you, my heart breaks for you, for you are truly not aware of your own condition, you are in Danger!!!! Humble yourself before a Mighty God, eternity is too important to lose over pride, arrogance, and denial of what truly is the problem of EVERY human being, an incurably wicked heart, and a nature that is infested with sin. Only the power of God can save you and transform you from the inside out, apart from His grace and mercy, you have NO HOPE! Do you understand that?
