Oh, he knows of repentance. Acting on it is another thing. The discussion seems to me to be more about the doctrine itself than how you witness it to the lost.

Seems to me the point is repentance and faith towards Christ. The rest WILL come with a faithful walk in Christ. Christ will see to it with those that are his.

Sister ladybug...

I personally know a strictly reformed man who abuses alcohol and uses profanity. What do you do with this man?

My point is that its not always the theology yoi agree on that shows the mind of a true believer. Its the life they live, even when nobody is physically watching them.

I don't want to get into a lengthy discussion. I will however leave with this question...

Does acceptance/rejection of the doctrine of limited atonement save/Damn anyone?

Blessings sister. And blessings to all this day.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:4‭-‬11 KJV

A blessed day to all.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:14‭-‬17 KJV

Bonny...

We preach the good news to everyone. Whoever has ears to hear it, and is saved, is Gods business. As for you and me... preach the good news.

Its simple.
--

Christopher...

In my opinion, these long threads come from the desire of some to show how much they have figured it all out.

Dr Tim...

I appreciate your last post. This is the kind of discussion that I've had with some others on this site. And like I said before it's challenged me to consider these things. I have looked into it. I understand the passion of the issue. What I have seen over the years since my conversion is several different types of Christians. Some barely study and care little about versions, somewhat charasmatic(and yes, i know a true brother in the Lord who is like that). Believe me, i see the problems with that.

And i know some who are heavy into study and are more heavily reformed in their doctrine. I can appreciate the latter. Its a noble path. But i also see the latter has bogged down some into a corse, academic only type of walk that shows little power amd little appeal. Not a lot of joy visible.

There has to be a balance and grace to all things.

Im ok if we agree to disagree.

But i do thank you for your graceful post.
Have a blessed day.

Bro john...

You know me bro. I know the issues that weve discussed before. I use esv and kjv and compare.

Its the attitude of some kjv onlyists im trying to point out.

Its the mindset that some kjv onlyists have, that if you don't graduate to kjv only, you are poor student and lazy.

This elitist attitude is unfortunate.

Doesn't please the Lord i think.

Off to sleep.

Since you cut/edit my posts. I will do the same.

"Lawful","shame", "disgrace".
""Pragmatic","lazy","self pleasing ".

My point exactly.
You can have the last word if it pleases you.
