Dorcas, im so sorry , I was in no means offended by your statement, honestly and blah blah blah was a jibe at me for rambling on .
Wow im truly sorry, I as having a go at my self.?
Bless you Dave for your humble spirit.
All is good.
----
This thread has become a stench of self-righteousness disguised as piety, by some who sit in Moses' seat pronouncing judgement on everyone who doesn't adhere to their particular shibboleth.
I've seen it my whole Christian journey and in particular the fundementalist crowd.
A few of the brothers watched or talked about the football game and immediately on comes the Pharisee's to pronounce condemnation, and this is continual on here, around the holidays, when wine is mentioned, sports, or whatever they have judged to be sin.
It is most grieving to God and a horrible witness to all who come on this site.
Enough said.
All of God's best to you and your family.

Dorcas , John UK, Thankyou, god bless.
I still believe the answers we seek are in scripture?
Dorcas I certainly haven't twisted others words regarding grey areas, sorry if I've made you think that, I agree entirely with your statement regarding grey area ,back about a dozen posts or so.
Are we not bound to tactfully point out sin? To our brethren. it's a fine line between being judgemental and a hypocrite and trying to honestly discern the scriptures whilst exercising righteous judgement, which we are told to do.
I would hope that you dorcas or anyone else would point out perceived un-Christian like behavior to me if made aware of it. Blah blah blah im sorry.
Bye
Well Dave, I see you took offense to what I posted.
I was answering your question that you asked concerning grey areas.
I meant no personal insult.
Your "blah, blah, blah, I'm sorry' comes off as rude btw.
I'm done.
Good day and take care.

Dave,
No one has said there are 'grey area's ' except those posters who are mis-reading or intentionally twisting the words of others.
This comment section lately has turned into a pharisaical policed site.

Romans 14:5b
"Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind".
----
Not coerced, nor uncertain, as he will be if, instead of forming his OWN opinion, as he prays and reads Scripture LED by the Holy Spirit and heeds not the confusion of tongues now abounding on every side.

"In his wn mind": neither blindly following or yielding to the 'ipse dixit' of others.
It is an obligation binding on each of us to be regulated in Scripture by what appears to be the revealed will of God.
By all means perform what you are assured to be your duty, and leave others to do so also.

Let us help one another all we can, not exercise dominion over the brethren, which sadly has been the case of late.

Galations 6:14.

Thanks for your kindness but I find the tone on the forum is too contentious for me.
God bless.
I certainly understand, and agree.

@born again believer ,
Do hope you will reconsider and post again.
You brought some much needed balance to this thread.
As one has rightly said; "Blessed liberty is it when we are delivered from being in bondage to the fickle opinions and estimates of man, who wil one day cry "Hosannah" and the next day "crucify."

John Y,
I would recommend the website www.justforcatholics.org. for your edification.
I have recommended it to family members who are RC.
Not confrontational nor militant...biblical and loving to Catholics.
Do hope you will research it.
God Bless.

sc,
God has left us in the world to be both salt and light.
As such we are the bearers of the Good News of salvation.
We live in a corrupt environment that is becoming more intolerable by the day and like Lot, we are tormented by the lawless deeds we see and hear.
With that said, I think your constant caustic accusatory tone and responses to the folks on this forum who do not either meet your standard or agree with you, are what has caused division.
I would ask you in all Christian charity to please consider that and pray about it.
Instead of withdrawing from contact with the world, we must strive to resist its influence and live by the convictions God has given us from His Word.
Peace & Grace to you.

Christopher, nor should you have to defend yourself. We have been called out of our former lives to a new life, and one of the ways Satan tries to defeat the brethren is to fool them into thinking they still are the old man, that forgiveness hasn't come and they have no hope of continuing on the new path. but we know that the steps of the righteous man are ordered by God.
Leaving the past behind and "running the race" as Mike and others have mentioned.
There is a pulling a friend "back on the path" if they wander off, but there is also taking one's eyes off the plowshare to look back, or as Satan used the Word in the desert to condemn our Lord in His time of trial.
None of us want to go back. I certainly don't! We have been forgiven much and God calls us to forgive one another and let Him complete His work in us. Salvation is just the beginning!
Well said.
-----
Christopher,
As one once rightly said; "Put away the microscope to use on our brethren and get out the mirror for ourselves."
Sound wisdom for us all to remember!
Blessings to you brother.

Good morning sister dorcas. Well, we gave our goats to the neighbors across the street. The male was getting to be to much for the wife and kids. Stubborn animals to say the least.
The Lord saw fit to bless us with 16 baby chick's a few days ago. Tripling our original flock from 7 to 23. Praise to him for his kindness. What a blessing.
How are things going for you?
What a blessing concerning the baby chicks and the riddance of the pesky goats.
You have come into remembrance several times and I am glad to see you posting again.
The Lord has been most merciful to our family..Praise His Holy Name!
----
Every blessing dear brother to you and your family.

You're welcome dear sister.
I feel bad about the caustic language but the woman grates on me. Not the type I could ever have fellowship with.
Btw, congratulations on becoming great grandparents to you and your husband. My wife and are technically eligible but we pray a college diploma comes first, then marriage, then...... All things in their proper order.
Blessings.

edit: Bro GS, Yours is a position I can respect.
Thank-you brother for your kind wishes.
We are looking forward to meeting our grandson and to be able to speak to him as he grows about our wonderful, loving,Lord and Saviour.

Thanks for your post brother Lurker.
I have felt quite queasy with some of the posts lately of people wanting to micro-manage every aspect of a Christians walk before the Lord and the church.
It is nothing but 21 century Phariseeism.

Robertson is an elder at his CoC assembly.
So yes we are to judge his doctrine and his fruit.
He has bad theology concerning original sin, that people are not born sinners, and other strange ideas..go to you-tube and watch some of his speaking engagements that he has given in evangelical churches.

What Phil Robertson spoke is true.
But....in doctrine and his close friendship of the world his fruit is suspect.
