Homeschooled Christian wrote: That's why I'm glad I was homeschooled. I got one-on-one help with reading and math. I wonder if the parents of public schooled children ever helped their children in schoolwork? I did and I even ran for local school board to make a difference, but sadly the gov't school didn't want the help of a Christian mother. You are blessed to have not attended a gov't school. They've removed all knowledge of God which leaves them empty of wisdom and we're seeing the fruit of that decision. Parents, pull your children out of the gov't schools. |

Wayfarer Pilgrim wrote: Dr. Patterson has been a controversial fiquire at Southwestern Seminary, the statement of counseling women to stay with abusive husbands is not old. However, it should give pause as to whom you marry. Many women are in abusive relationship because they either know in advance or because of by deception of the husband, boyfriend or whatever. If a church going couple has abuse in the marriage, Church discipline should be enacted against the abusive party . If law enforcement needs to be involved so be it. If separating from an abusive husband or wife is needed, so be it. But if reconciliation is not possible then by all means the abused party must legally be separated from the spouse and the church must make efforts to care for the former wife and children. Rendering the abuser outside the church. But keep in mind, the abuser, unrepentant, May seek harm on all parties. The death among women who stay with an abusive husband is epidemic. Amen! Good advice. |

Dr. Tim wrote: Maybe Christians should take a break from picketing at abortion clinics and start carrying signs at courthouses and in front of the homes of these abominable judges. Or do all of the above! |

Amen, Constructive Criticism - I'll take it and thank you for the reminder. Also, I just remembered my mother-in-law turns 83 next month! Praise the Lord! She's a wonderful lady. Please say a little prayer for her, if you are so inclined. |

In response to those who might think I'm a feminist: I was a stay at home wife and mother until my sons reached legal age and then I sold Real Estate and new construction. I did this at my husband's request - however, the extra money didn't produce the results he wanted and the good Lord brought me back home through a series of events. Now I'm a full-time wife and mother to a 5 year old German-Pit named Amy. I think most Christian men will agree that submitting to my husband's desire for me to go to work after the children were raised was not sinful. In a private message Watcher asked why I didn't mention my husband or children on my blogs - first of all, they are not your to wonder about or discuss. As I said earlier, I've been a bit controversial and I try to protect them from undue criticism. As far as being ambitious, proud, etc. - if I were I would not have left the workforce and returned home. As far as politics, at one time I was politically active, but after examining Scripture I came to the conclusion that it isn't my place to lead men, so I dropped the ball and now I tell the gent's to pick it up. And for Watcher's info: my profile pic is only a couple years old - it was taken at my mother-in-laws 80th Birthday party. She's now 82. |

Well folks, I've been controversial since my new birth approx. 25 years ago. I'm actually a shy type of person who the good Lord pushed out of my comfort zone. I can be abrupt and probably lack social skills. If I say something that offends, please just ask me to explain and I'll try to respond with an explanation of what's going on in my head... Well, some folks might not want to know how my mind works. |

The more I read of the allegations against Bill Hybels the more concerned I become. It does appear the church elders were somewhat complicit in the continuance of the abuse. There is also the concern that he isn't showing contrition or repentance for his behavior. |
