Jer 10:2 "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen..."

The system gets eight to ten hours with your children and you get a teachable moment - who do you think is going to have the most influence? The damage is already done by your disobedience to God.

Eph 6:4 "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

You think the secular school system is going to do that for you? Guess again!

Besides, do you really know "ALL" that they are teaching your children. Do you really care to know? Obviously not!

GET REAL and GROW UP pastor!

RIGHT! And it seems as if there were any human beings this large, the bible would have indicated such an extrordinary thing.

It also seems that there would at least be another partial footprint somewhere close by.

"The latest version of the popular NIV Bible translation has had its verses on homosexuality reworded, making them clearer in denouncing the practice, a theologian who helped with the translation says.

These clarifications include the verse in 1 Corinthians 6:9, where the 1984 NIV version uses the phrase “homosexual offenders,” while the 2011 translation changes the phrase to "men who have sex with men.""

A paraphrase is still a paraphrase, and my question is this, will a paraphrase bring conviction to those who commit that sinful act and also convince others who tolerate that act that it is indeed sinful in God's eyes? I doubt it!

Romans 3:20 says, "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."

The fact is, most people no longer believe God's law and modern translations have helped to undermine the credibility of both God's word and His law. People simply do not take God's word seriously - after all, "WHERE'S GOD's WORD?" The fear of God is gone because the wrath of God is masked by confusion and indifference. And all of that, in spite of what words you use. No matter how strong and severe the words, if they be not from God - whose going to listen and change?

A Roman Catholic cannot have any assurance of salvation - even Pope John Paul wasn't assured of heaven when he died. He didn't go to heaven when he died, according to Roman Catholic teaching, and if he didn't go there first when he died, he'll never go there, according to sound biblical protestant teaching.

Our church rents a church building from another church which meets in the same facility, but in the morning - we meet in the afternoon. A couple of weeks ago we entered the sanctuary of the church and a few feet behind the pulpit was a stack of silver gift wrapped boxes. These boxes were huge. They were arranged in pyramid style; gradually getting smaller at the top - the bottom box was probably three feet high by three square feet. There is a big wooden cross on the wall behind the pulpit (which I also think is wrong) and these boxes nearly hid it. There was also a small nativity scene near the gift boxes. After talking with a couple of men in the church we decided to ask if we could have those objects removed while we worshipped. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN! One brother later decided he would go ahead so as to not disturb the unity of the fellowship, but another brother and I and our families haven't been to church the last few weeks. In defence of the pastor who put those gifts there, apparently he wanted to use them for a sermon illustration - FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF DECEMBER!

While a church is certainly not the building, we do corporately worship Him there and to have those things in the sanctuary is TO ME and others highly dishonorable to God and even heretical.

What I would like to know is "How on earth can a Christmas tree pay homage to the Lord Jesus Christ?"

Do we believe this or not? I do! I knew a guy who claimed to be a believer, who enjoyed his pornography, and when I pointed this verse out to him he said it was legalistic. He is clearly deceived! And lost!

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." Galatians 6:7-8

Thank you for your response Angela. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but I've been pretty busy. I don't know too much about Mrs. Bachmann, but even if she were chosen by the Republican party to run for president in 2012, I wouldn't/couldn't vote for her. The sad thing is, I am not very impressed with any of the candidates.
