"The latest version of the popular NIV Bible translation has had its verses on homosexuality reworded, making them clearer in denouncing the practice, a theologian who helped with the translation says.These clarifications include the verse in 1 Corinthians 6:9, where the 1984 NIV version uses the phrase “homosexual offenders,” while the 2011 translation changes the phrase to "men who have sex with men."" A paraphrase is still a paraphrase, and my question is this, will a paraphrase bring conviction to those who commit that sinful act and also convince others who tolerate that act that it is indeed sinful in God's eyes? I doubt it! Romans 3:20 says, "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin." The fact is, most people no longer believe God's law and modern translations have helped to undermine the credibility of both God's word and His law. People simply do not take God's word seriously - after all, "WHERE'S GOD's WORD?" The fear of God is gone because the wrath of God is masked by confusion and indifference. And all of that, in spite of what words you use. No matter how strong and severe the words, if they be not from God - whose going to listen and change? |

Original sin, the substitutionary atonement, justification, eternal judgment, and classical theism (the doctrine of God) all must go, according to Dr. Pinnock and his team of writers in A Case for Arminianism (Zondervan, 1989). "I do not think we should feel we have lost something of absolute value when we find ourselves at variance with some of the old so-called orthodox interpretations," Dr. Pinnock concludes." |

I do! I knew a guy who claimed to be a believer, who enjoyed his pornography, and when I pointed this verse out to him he said it was legalistic. He is clearly deceived! And lost! "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." Galatians 6:7-8 |

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but I've been pretty busy. I don't know too much about Mrs. Bachmann, but even if she were chosen by the Republican party to run for president in 2012, I wouldn't/couldn't vote for her. The sad thing is, I am not very impressed with any of the candidates. |
