I, personally, would recommend a conservative Reformed Baptist. But just because people from a particular denomination holds buys into the social justice thing, it does not mean everyone in that denomination holds to that position. I found this helpful in regards to the social justice issue: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=egWi5VVFsTc Also Dr. James White has spoken about this: http://www.aomin.org/aoblog/?s=Social+Justice+ |

Doc, the IFB is in fact a denomination, there are good churches that are not IFB but are pretty solid. But I’d like to know when you would say the IFB church started. Can you name any church fathers that were IFB? Was Athanasius an IFB? Jerome? Augustine? Ignatius? Polycarp? Justin Martyr? Were the authors of the didache IFB? Hus? Wycliff? Tyndale? Luther? Knox? @Gay, I think the social justice issue is another virus, and we have to realize that all denominations (Including the IFB) have their conservative people and liberals, and are struggling/battaling with certain issues. Find a church that holds to the inspiration and innarancy of the scriptures, the a proper view of salvation and who God is, and expository preaching. |

Furthermore, Mosiah 10:32 says, “Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.”So the question would be, have you denied yourself of all ungodliness? In deed, in your thoughts? Even one lustful thought would make you ineligible to ever receive the grace of elohim. And you have to fulfill the greatest commandment, to love God with all your might, mind and strength, have you ever achieved this? If you’re honest you’ll say “no” Ephesians 2:8-9 says,”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Check these videos out: http://heartcrymissionary.com/?fullsite=yes https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BVr50cgApPI&list=PL59674968283B7BE3&index=5&t=0s |

@Chris, howdy there. I’ve studied Mormonism, I’ve read The Great Apostasy, Lectures on Faith, Our Search for Happiness, etc. and even some of the Mormon Scriptures. But you brought up some interesting things but I want to focus on one: 1. If you love me keep my commandments This is true, if we truly have been born again then we will have a Spirit filled desire to worship the one true God. (Deut. 6:4, Isaiah 41-45) But here Christianity and Mormonism is already at tension, here’s why. In Mormon theology there are 3 gods for this universe and there are an innumerable amount of other gods outside our universe. (Teachings of the prophet JS, pgs. 369-370) Yet the Bible teaches that there is only one God (Gen. 1:1 Deut 6:4, Isaiah 41:4, Mark 12:29-30) And this ties directly into the gospel because here’s what the LDS scriptures teach: 2Nephi 25:23 says, “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” Notice that you have to do all you can, if you’ve ever neglected doing something (a good work, preaching the gospel of heavenly father, etc.) you then, according to LDS theology, cannot enter into glory... |

John, if you believe that every teacher or pastor has to always be correct 100% of the time in order to be qualified and cannot possibly make an interpretational mistake, then there would be no pastors because every pastor is human and thus is fallible. It seems that you believe that questioning and challenging a pastor on a certain issue cannot be done with humility, respect, submission, love, gentleness, and that the pastor cannot take it with the same attitude. And that it causes division, and somehow it sets me up as a higher authority than him. “If he = Taught and Johnny Mac = Teacher, he reserves the right to analyse Johnny's teaching (and correct him) and proclaim himself higher in knowledge than Johnny, because he as Connor knows far more than Johnny Mac and ought himself (Connor) to be in the Teaching position and Johnny Mac can be in the Taught position.” No, it’s to recognize that Pastor MacArthur is human and I know that he is smarter than me, but being smart doesn’t make you infallible... |

...Out of all the things that the church is struggling with, do we really need to add fuel to theological fire? That’s why I really don’t want to be part of the “Calvinist Club” so to speak.I am Reformed, all 5 points, etc. but my fellow Calvinists needs to cut it out, be watchful, be humble, cut the “I’m going to be a cool Calvinist” and actually be willing to say that MacArthur, White, Durbin, Molher, Phil Johnson, Lawson, etc. aren’t infallible and that you can rightfully disagree with them and point out their errors in a humble manner. And to realize that Beer and pipes ain’t going to win them brownie points in Heaven and they aught to be willing to stop the use of them for the sake of Christian unity. Well, I better get off of my soap box. 📦 |

@HTBCC, no one really takes you seriously when you do all caps and to be honest, you are doing such a fantastic job at eisegesis it looks like something that should be on The Babylon Bee...seriously, you are not handling the word of God properly by interpreting Revelation in such a zany matter by inserting, without warrent, Jesuits, the RC Church, etc.And I’m not a KJVonlyist (neither were the apostles, early church fathers, Hus, Wycliffe, Luther, Tyndale, Erasmus, Baza, the KJV translators, Whitefield, Brainerd, Edwards, C. Wesley, Knox, MLJ, etc.) so we’re not all in the “WE TRUE KING JAMES HOLY BIBLE ONLY BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN-CATHOLICS-/-PROTESTANTS-/-INDEPENDENTS” Nonetheless, everyone needs to not only read the article but also the comments on the article, it’s very entertaining. |
