I believe Jim, that the topic at hand is Obama, not Bush. Also what else would we expect from Obama's sycophants at CNN and NBC?

Dorcas,
Your experience sounds like mine. My wife began to be convicted about hollywood and would try to talk to me about it, but I didnt want to get rid of it. Over time I began to see how antithetical it was to a Christian life and I got rid of it. Same goes for video games. I used to be addicted to video games and would spend hours playing Call of Duty (an extremely popular war game where you run around killing each other) online and woud totally neglect my family. For the sake of my marriage and fellowship with God, I gave these things up.

Sc,

While I agree that tv is detrimental to to a Christian, I wouldnt get rid of it immediately, but make it a goal to work towards. If Christophers wife is unconverted like he seems to indicate, she will not understand and more likely be provoked to leave if Chris starts to tell her what she can and cant do. The ultimate goal is for Chris to save his marriage and win his wife to Christ, which will take much grace and patience. I just dont think laying down the law and expecting her to comply, being unconverted and not of the same convictions, is the right approach at the moment. I think that fervent prayer, and living a blameless Christian life before her is the best option.

I hope that makes sense.

Right godly motive, don't you think?

A rather deluded motive if I may say so.

By now you should be wondering what holy writ you have broken, what vehement prohibition you transgressed, what taboo has led to these responses.

I wonder how many here have been left wondering the same thing after you got done reviling them?

Jim, I have to wonder why as a Christian, you are so wild about a godless, humanistic education like common core? Thats why we homeschool. Whether common core or no, its just gonna be politically correct, humanistic garbage.

I was reading this the other day Christopher, maybe it will help.

"If your wife be unbelieving or carnal, then you also have a duty lying before you, which you are engaged to perforn under a double engagement.

Now to qualify you for a behavior suitable:

One. Labor seriously after a sense of her miserable state, that your heart may yearn towards her soul.

Two. Beware that she take no occasion from any unseemly behavior of yours, to proceed to evil. And here you need to double your diligence, for she lies in your bosom, and therefore is capable of espying the least miscarriage in you.

Three. If she behaves unseemly and unruly, and she is subject to do, being Christless and graceless, then labor to overcome her evil with your goodness, her adversity with your patience and meekness. It is a shame for you, who have another principle, to do as she.

Four. Take every opportunity to convince her. Observe her disposition, and when she is most likely to bear, then speak to her very heart."

-John Bunyan, an excerpt from "Family Duty"

By what authority does he base this conclusion? At best he could only say that it is his opinion. Since morality for the atheist is purely a subjective matter, any defense for his position would be emotional rather than rational.

In my opinion, if Chris was to throw the tv out of the house and tell his wife no more tv, she would probably be so bewildered, that it would actually do more harm to their marriage than good.

One shouldnt make sweeping statements.

Perhaps we should wait until more of the story and facts come out before we jump to conclusions.

SteveR,

To be fair they both did. But actually John Y started this off with a silly statement about what "normal" evangelicals believe. I personally dont think much of the RCC, but I wouldnt say that all true evangelical protestants share my opinion of the RCC.

John Y writes:
No every normal Evangelical Protestant does not believe the RCC is a satanic counterfeit. My Non Denominational brother does not believe that.

Who are you to say what normal evangelical protestants believe? And how is your brothers opinion indicative of what "normal" evangelicals believe? This is whats known as the no true scotsman fallacy.

Of course this will not stop Al Sharpton from trying to make this an issue of race so he can remain important and perpetuate the racial divide.

1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Christians are suppose to judge. Think about it, scripture says ye shall know them by their fruits. This would be impossible without making a judgement. Matthew 7:1 is one of the most misused verses in scripture. If you read the next four verses it is clear that Christ is warning against hypocritcal judgement, not that we shouldnt make judgements at all.

"It's hard for them to accept that I do abortions because I'm a Christian."

Show us from scripture how infanticide is a "christian" practice Dr. Parker, and we might take you seriously. I cant imagine what kind of twisting of Gods word he employs to justify this heinous act.

Perhaps I shouldnt call his supporters mindless, I apologize. However, I am sure they will not mind that even though he railed against Bush for fighting a "dumb war" in Iraq, and bragged about getting us out of there, he is now basically doing the same thing.
