Dear Friend,I assure you that I read my Bible. As a rule I read the whole chapter when I quote a verse or two from it. For instance, the often ecumenically abused prayerful admonition for unity found in John 17:20-26 is preceded by: John 17:17-19 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. The Lord Jesus was in no way praying for a unity in verses 20-26 that supersedes His prayer for His followers to be sanctified by the truth of the Word of God in verses 17-19. In fact, the Lord expressly forbids unity with error, false gospels, heresy, etc. (See 2 Cor. 6:12-7:1; Gal. 1:6-9; 2 John 9-11) You have provided another example of misinterpreting Scripture in your use of Luke 6:32. The first rule of interpretation is CONTEXT, you ignored that rule in your use of John 17:20-26. The second rule of interpretation is THE ANALOGY OF THE FAITH, interpreting Scripture with Scripture by comparing Scripture with Scripture when and where it speaks to the same subject. Luke 6:32 is an abbreviated form of the same teaching found in Matt. 7:1-5. continued above... |

Dear EDL,John 15:4 & Matt. 28:20 do not negate the Lord Jesus’ bodily presence at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. It is through the Holy Spirit that He abides with us and is in us abundantly. Christ is not literally inside of us bodily in John 15:4. Nor is the Lord Jesus in our bellies being digested after we eat a bit of bread and drink a swallow of wine “IN REMEMBRANCE” of Him (Luke 22:19). John 6:27-40 27 DO NOT LABOR FOR THE FOOD WHICH PERISHES… 28 Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?" 29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you BELIEVE IN HIM whom He sent."… 35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. HE WHO COMES TO ME shall never hunger, and HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not BELIEVE… 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that EVERYONE WHO SEES THE SON AND BELIEVES IN HIM MAY HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE; AND I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY." Eph 2:8-9 For BY GRACE you HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast. |

Dear EDL,You well know that the "Word became flesh and dwelt among us," but that's not your point is it. Here's my point: Heb 1:3 when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high Heb 8:1-2 Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2 a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. Heb 10:12-14 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. Heb 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 1 Peter 3:22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. |

When it comes to the Gospel, you don’t beat them by joining them and their heresy. The Scriptures refer to this ecumenical evangelistic philosophy as APOSTASY.*Gal 1:6-9 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. *Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. *Charles Spurgeon "False gods, attempts to represent the true God, and indeed, all material things which are worshipped, are so much filth upon the face of the earth, whether they be crosses, crucifixes, virgins, wafers, relics, or even the Pope himself. We are by far too mealy mouthed about these infamous abominations: God abhors them, and so should we. To renounce the glory of spiritual worship for outward pomp and show is the height of folly, and deserves to be treated as such." (Spurgeon, The Treasury of David Psalm 106:20) |

Did you call the Archdiocese of Omaha and ask where they stand on the following statements of the currently binding Catholic Catechism. Our Evangelism Coordinator did call and ask. The Archdiocese stood unequivocally upon every Gospel denying statement. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1994) states: “The Church affirms that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation. 'Sacramental grace' is the grace of the Holy Spirit, given by Christ and proper to each sacrament.” CCC Para 1129 “Baptism,…erases original sin…” CCC Para 405 “Justification is conferred in Baptism, the sacrament of faith.” CCC Para 1992 “In this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner.” CCC Para 1367 “Taken up to heaven she (Mary) did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation.... Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the [Roman Catholic] Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix.” CCC Para 969 |

Dear Pastor Palmer,I appreciate your personal knowledge of Mr. Palau’s life and service. Being his pastor for so many years has no doubt provided a good vantage point from which to gain that personal knowledge. However, the emotional ties born out of close personal relationships can also serve to diminish our objectivity when assessing the theological soundness of an individual’s message and ministry. Did you read the articles written by the Catholic and Secular news agencies of Omaha? Did you watch the video footage from KETV channel 7 Omaha news? Here are a few of those links again. http://catholicvoiceomaha.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=315&SectionID=9&SubSectionID=81 http://www.catholicvoiceomaha.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=3354&SectionID=16&SubSectionID=22&S=1 http://www.catholicvoiceomaha.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=3504&SectionID=9&SubSectionID=145&S=1 http://www.ketv.com/entertainment/13584411/detail.html http://www.ketv.com/entertainment/13695332/detail.html http://www.ketv.com/family/13641507/detail.html |

You are in danger of being a spiritual descendant of Korah. I am reminded of a similar conversation Moses once had (no, I don’t think I’m Moses) :Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men; 2 and they rose up before Moses with some of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty leaders of the congregation, representatives of the congregation, men of renown. 3 They gathered together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them, "YOU TAKE TOO MUCH UPON YOURSELVES, FOR ALL THE CONGREGATION IS HOLY, EVERY ONE OF THEM, AND THE LORD IS AMONG THEM. WHY THEN DO YOU EXALT YOURSELVES ABOVE THE ASSEMBLY OF THE LORD?" 4 So when Moses heard it, he fell on his face; 5 and he spoke to Korah and all his company, saying, "Tomorrow morning the LORD will show who is His and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to Him. That one whom He chooses He will cause to come near to Him. 6 Do this: Take censers, Korah and all your company; 7 put fire in them and put incense in them before the LORD tomorrow, and it shall be that the man whom the LORD chooses is the holy one. YOU TAKE TOO MUCH UPON YOURSELVES, YOU SONS OF LEVI!" (Num 16:1-7) |

Don't forget this part...This Holy Spirit inspired text commands pastors to preach the Word of God authoritatively in order to convince, rebuke, and exhort. It is every pastor's job to bring conviction upon God's people. This is not a denial of the work of the Holy Spirit, it is submission to the work of the Holy Spirit in convicting God's people of sin, righteousness, and judgment through the ministry of the Holy Spirit inspired Word. *Where in here do you read anything about my or any pastor's position of authority? You don't. Instead, you read that God's Holy Spirit inspired Word commands pastors to preach the Word in order to "convince, rebuke, and exhort." It isn't a matter of pastors taking too much authority upon themselves. It is a matter of pastors obeying the Holy Spirit inspired Pastoral Epistles and thus preaching in such a way as to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in convincing, rebuking, and exhorting (or in another word, convicting). |

Or perhaps you missed this part (the Holy Spirit inspired part)...4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (2 Tim 4:1-5) |
