Put a little bit of Christian Liberty barbeque sauce on that meat sacrificed to idols. Mm Mm Finger lickin good. BTW, My experience has been that most Christians that are ok with Halloween are reformed and they refuse to take a position on it.

1) 33% of evangelicals surveyed believe that both faith in God/Christ and good deeds are needed in order to be saved, rejecting sola fide
41% of evangelicals surveyed now believe that the authoritative teaching of scripture must be supplemented by church teaching and church tradition, thereby rejecting the doctrine of sola scriptura
3) 24% of evangelicals surveyed believe in purgatory, that is the place where people go to be cleansed of their sins before they enter heaven.
4) 31% of evangelicals surveyed who attend church weekly do not believe in sola fide and sola scriptura.
5) Only 66% of evangelicals surveyed say that belief in Jesus Christ is key to gaining eternal life. In some schools, that’s a failing grade!
If revival ever takes place in our day it will involve a remnant coming out of today's sorry broad evangelicalism.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Is there a difference between "difficult times" and "perilous times"? Because if there is, then that will make a difference between a right or wrong interpretation of this passage.

Disney has been perverse from the very beginning. Just take a look at some of their "gag reels" from the 1930's.
On second thought, better that you don't.

Ideas have consequences, and when joined to the right kind of music, those consequences are explosive.

No surprises on that list at all. Especially not Tim Keller.

Just past the 37th anniversary of my first day in Marine boot camp at Parris Island. Can any of you former Marines out there imagine a transgender drill instructor at Parris Island or San Diego? How many could have taken such an individual seriously? The deafening public silence eminating from the offices of the Commandant and the SgtMaj of the Marine corps is not helpful either and is an outrage. If there is anyone out there that believes that transgenderism does not effect military readiness, please contact me. I'm in need of some extra money and I have a bridge in New York I would like to sell you. I'll throw the traffic in for free.
Yea , I know. How hateful.

Unprofitable Servant wrote:
This is the old argument that sc always brought up but never proved from the Bible. You cannot, and I am willing to be proved wrong, see where God ever reprimands His people for the actions of the world. We are to be salt and light, we are to fight the good fight of faith, but we are not responsible for the unregenerate acting like they are unregenerate. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. We should speak out against sin but even the church that Paul called carnal was not rebuked for their lifestyle being the cause of the sinful choices of those that knew not God.
You don't seem to pay attention very well. The quote reads as follows, it was the "lack of resistance from conservatives and Christians" that "may have been most immediately responsible for our current situation as it pertains to marriage."
Did you catch that?
...CONSERVATIVES AND CHRISTIANS...
...CONSERVATIVES AND CHRISTIANS...
...CONSERVATIVES AND CHRISTIANS...
Not just Christians, right?
That being said you're argung from a point in history when the church was in its fledgling state. We are in a different point in history with different dynamics at work, where without the church's influence in the beginning, there would be no USA as we had

Hey Links,
The burden of proof that this story didn't actually happen is on you. You haven't done that. Which means all you have is an opinion, your opinion. Just like everybody else.

I somewhat agree w/ Walsh. I can't say the "lack of resistance from conservatives and Christians" that "may have been most immediately responsible for our current situation as it pertains to marriage." I do believe however that it is an important contributing factor. Tolerance of gross sin contributes to its spread. I heartily believe that the mainstreaming of high places in old testament Israel could not have manifested without an undue tolerance of them from the "conservatives" of that day. Yes God is sovereign, but we are also responsible.

“Completely unexpectedly, a lion ran from the forest, leapt toward the militants, and seized one by the neck. When other combatants tried to attack the lion, two other lions bounded toward them. The terrified militants fled the site, and the lions left us completely alone,” he said.

“Equally astonishing, records show no lions are supposed to live in that forest,” he said.
Love this. Wish there were more of these kinds of stories.

Typical Babylonian Jesuit pablum. This student's statements are nothing more than the outworkings of the Jesuit character of that institute of so called higher learning.

It's about time someone defines "first love" properly. Many nowadays put an undue burden on believers by making love, which is to be above all, sound like it is to be to the exclusion of all, and sometimes they use this passage to justify their assertions. Thank you Dr. Cairns for getting this right.

Anton LeVey would not let his kids watch TV. The horses' mouths are giving us all this valuable information and we need to give heed. But 21st century evangelicals don't listen to them, they just listen to their feeeeeelings. And if it feels right then it is of the Lord.

Sermon:
Should Christians watch Movies?
Dr. David P Murray

“ Great Sermon! ”
Great principles here, applicable to more than just watching movies. I would beseech you who often apply the "meat sacrificed to idols" concept to entrtainment, especially Disney, that meat sacrificed to idols when eaten, went into the stomach and then out of the body. Entertainment goes into the eargate and the eyegate, which are portals into the soul, and therefore have the potential to spiritually defile. The Rev. Murray cited Psa 101:3 " I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I HATE the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me." This should be our attitude and it is not enough that someone in the "Christian" media recommended we go watch this or that movie. I've gone with these recommendations in the past and to say that I was disappointed would be a severe understatement. At times I was downright shocked and realized that this was at best a waste of time and money. I implore especially certain brethren in my church, and you know who you are.

Reminds me more of
Dan 4:33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
