Well, Mike, that does create a bit of a problem, doesnât it? The God of the Bible takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but the God of hyperelectionism apparently gets a real charge from it. The God of the Bible is willing that all should come to repentance, but the God of hyperelectionism would kick a non-elect sinner right in the teeth if He caught him sneaking around trying to repent. The God of the Bible would have all men to be saved, but the God of hyperelectionism is only capable of creating a little bitty heaven with a great housing shortage, so He prefers to send people to hell every chance He gets. The God of the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD (exact quote) but the God of hyperelectionism canât find the right words to say what He really means, so He needs hyperelectionist interpretors to explain to ninnies like us what God âreallyâ meant to say. Tell ya what. I think Iâll just stick with the God of the Bible.
Your remarks are not only cogent, N.C., but civil as wellâboth of which traits are wholly unacceptable on this forum. Gird up your loins and prepare to be attacked mercilessly by the hyperelectionist (since Hypercalvinism apparently isnât even a thing) crowd.
In my earlier post the reference should have been I John 5:10. Canât imagine how a young sprout like me can have difficulty proofreading this 2-point type.
And by the way, He wonât save you because you call upon the name of the Lord. Heâll save you because He SAID He would save you. And donât worry yourself for five seconds about whether or not you are âelect.â If you trust Jesus to save you, you are elect.
âFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be savedâ (Romans 10:13). If you are reading this and realize you are a sinner in need of a Savior, then call on Jesus and ask Him to save you. He will, or the Bible is not the Word of God. John 5:10ââHe that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.â
Ladybug, these winter days are very short, and I need every hour of daylight for outdoor work. Nevertheless, I will answer your question about what Godâs Word says. It says that Christ died for the ungodly. Not just some of the ungodly, but for the ungodly.Anyone who is ungodly and willing to admit his or her need of a Savior is a viable candidate for salvation. ANYONE. When your assumptions are incorrect, your conclusions cannot possibly be right.
It sure is a pity that no one was around to correct Jesus when he said, âAnd ye will not come to me, that you might have life.â Obviously He didnât know enough about theology to realize that He should have said, âYe CAN not come to me, that ye may have life.â
And I think the swift and sure execution of murderersâand especially murderers of innocent babiesâis healthcare. It provides for a healthier society, free from the noisome pestilence of legalized massacre.
John for Jesus, I really donât know anything about electric cars, so Iâm sincere when I ask if an hour and ten minutes is considered a âfastâ charge. If it is, then obviously the battery-powered vehicles are impractical for anything other than local use. Who has time on a road trip to stop for an hour and ten minutes for every two and a half hours of driving?
There is substantial evidence that Mr. Trump did win the election, Jim. Tragically for America, the same cabal of crooked citizens, politicians, judges and newspeople who stole the election not from Donald Trump, but from the American people, are now denying and suppressing the evidence of fraud on the same massive scale as the election counting itself. If itâs âfairâ for the left to take the election by fraud, then I for one say that it is equally fairânay, more than fairâfor the right to repossess it by force. I think itâs time for martial law until civil law can be restored.
Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
CV wrote: âTrump is always portrayed as a dangerous narcissist, or an incompetent idiot on a power grab.â Yes, and the low-information voters gobble up this drivel like a bream snatching a cricket. Jim likes to point out the âthousandsâ of lies supposedly told by Donald Trump (without ever revealing one particular lie, as he is unable to do so), but for every lie told BY the president, ten thousand have been told ABOUT him. Although it is looking extraordinarily bleak for Trump and for the United States, I still pray that God will act to award the presidency to the rightful winner of the election.
There are, however, numerous commands in the Bible about how Christians are to treat other people, Mike. Unfortunately, judging from many of the comments on Sermon Audioâincluding, I am sad to say, some of my ownâit would seem that none of these commands seem to carry much weight among us.
