Amen to your post Frank.
The pharisaical attitude by 1517 has been nauseous.
He is typical of those that we have encountered along our Christian journey.
The comments by some are much like you hear from the papists.
Next thing we'll be told that it is a 'mortal sin' to not go to 'church'

I have read A.W. Pinks works as well as his bio. By Ian Murray, 1517 does bear false witness against him. Shameful!

We have a car also, have even relocated trying to find Christian fellowship...to no avail.
Biblical ignorance within most of the buildings that call themselves 'churches' may well be deeper and more widespread than at any other time since the Reformation.
Most hirelings have entrepreneurial styles of church leadership where he casts himself in the role of corporate CEO rather than a faithful shepherd of Christ's blood bought flock.
But praise God we do know of a FEW who are faithful...but they live thousands of miles away.

Good post Michael.
Sometimes these threads read like a bad NWO conspiracy web-site.

I also pray we would see a spiritual awakening today that would tear people loose from their idols, religion and superstition and send them to the Lord Jesus Christ as their ONLY hope!!

Christopher,
Wonderful to hear that the Lord has provided a place for you to gather with others that are like- minded.
I know your situation is most difficult and I thank and praise Him for providing a little oais for you in this spiritually dry land.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46:7
Blessings to you Chris.

Well praise the Lord, that many of us 'lone wolves' are always in spiritual assembly before our Lord and Saviour.

Ladybug,
Your post was spot on.
What you described has been for the most part, our experience too.
As long as spirituality can be pigeon holed into where one goes and what they do for 'the church' on Wednesday evenings and twice on Sundays..many are content and feel they have performed their 'duty' to God.
But when one chooses to actually live the Christian life (by God's grace) they are usually labeled 'legalist' 'Pharisee' ......
Most of what is called Christian fellowship is the knife and fork type, with "what do y'all do for fun"?
When one wants to speak of the deep things of God, and His Will for our lives and let's pray for.....? I have actually been told by another Christian... "Wow you are really into this"

1517,
Who do you think you are, judging other believers as 'lone wolves' and jumping to conclusions that they do not desire to be part of an assembly for corporate worship?

There are many of us who cannot find or live hundreds of miles from a faithful gospel meeting house.
If you have one..PTL
Have some compassion for those of us who do not!

Anyone who claims to be a Christian and attends a roman mass is deluded or willfully sinning against much light.

Going to a satanic mass at a romanist organization is every bit as evil as the roman soldiers mocking, bowing the knee, spitting, scourging our precious Lord and Saviour.
That is what is taking place on pagan roman altars every hour of every day around this world, with their mockery of our Lords death.
Any true child of God, indwelt by the Holy Spirit would decry such a blasphemy,NOT DEFEND ANY OF THAT FILTH AND FLEE.

Anyone who defends that religion from the devil is anti-Christ.

As the Bible states...there are many....even have some on this board.

Ephesians 4:1-16 is a wonderful description of believers (the church) in the unity of the Spirit.
How far we have fallen.

What passes for "church" in most of the USA is nothing more than a 12 step, get your fire insurance, accept Jesus as your personal 'Saviour' , rock the river type of have it your way club.
No thanks, better to gather with another beliver, sing the psalms, and worship our GOD in Spirit and Truth.
Oh....and be a gospel witness where the Lord has placed you.

When speaking to RC the most important thing that is needful is that they hear the gospel of grace through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
It's easy to get caught up in discussions about idolatry, traditions of men, blasphemous mass, etc.
Three things are foreign to most RC, which the Lord Jesus freely gives to repentant sinners.
Complete forgiveness of sins.
The imputation of His perfect righteousness
The assurance of eternal life.
These are the promises from the Word of God, that popery opposes with a vengeance, and their councils ( Trent and Vatican II) condemn any RC who believe these precious promises with anathema.
There is no match for the Word of God.
It is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.
Let it speak for itself and be in ferverent prayer that their eyes will be opened and they be turned from darkness to Light.

How popery teaches justification, taken from their handbook, catechism of the catholic religion.
1-Justification is a transformation of the soul in which original sin is removed and sanctifying grace is INFUSED. [ 1987-1995]
2-Initial justification is by means of BAPTISM. [1262-1274]
3-Justification is furthered by SACRAMENTS and GOOD WORKS.[1212, 1392, 2010]
4-Justification is LOST through mortal sin.
[1033, 1855, 1874]

Much, much more on their works mongering satanic delusion.
This should suffice.

John,
I hear you.
Where we live all the religious folk have been driving up and down our road to get to the park, for their sunrise services, egg hunts, worship of trees , flowers, bees etc.
We had our scripture signs out on the Lords Day and it makes them drive faster as they go by our house.
Maybe one of God's elect took notice.

Shane,
I have a RC family and they say happy Easter, Merry Xmass, etc.
I smile, thank them and say a blessed Lords Day to you, if it is a Sunday, or if it is during the week when the winter festival is celebrated I wish them a blessed day.
This usually opens the door for them to ask questions concerning this topic and why we don't participate.
It is always to be handled with grace and concern for Gods glory and their eternal benefit.
I was blessed by your post and your handling of the matter with your co-worker.
Blessings to you and yours.

US,
I will continue to expose error and contend for the faith as long as the Lord wills.
If it is viewed as 'sanctimonious', pharisaical or whatever one chooses to call it. So be it.
Have a blessed Lords Day.

s c,
I agree with your response to Unprofitable.
His post lost credibility with me when he poorly chose to use the word sanctimonious.
I was pondering how to respond to it, you answered well. : thumbsup:
