It saddens me when the ungodly are applauded and the righteous denigrated. I had to remember the Psalmist put forth in Psalm 73:But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped. Because I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
(Psa 73:2-3) They scoff and utter oppression in wickedness. They speak loftily. They have set their mouth in the heavens and their tongue walks through the earth.
(Psa 73:8-9) And they say, How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High? Behold, these are the wicked and those who prosper of old. They have possessed wealth.
(Psa 73:11-12) If I had said, I will speak thus, behold, I would have dealt treacherously with the generation of your sons. When I thought how I might understand this, it was too painful for me, until I went into the sanctuary of God and considered their latter end.
(Psa 73:15-17) Yes, the wicked may seem to get their way now but they will get their just desserts. |
