Let's not forget that it's Gods grace if we see different, namely, that we detest the godless type of music that m.j. sang. The Bible says so rightly that "the natural man does not recieve the things of God because they are spiritually discerned. I am blessed to be a piano teacher with many students here in N.J. I have studied the origins of music of centuries ago, where our music came from, etc. The "junk" of m.j.'s music is nothing at all like the way music was meant to be, namely, beautiful harmony, beautiful instruments, etc., etc., and of course the fact that all music [singing, instrumental, etc.] must be to the glory of God. It is God who gives us the very breath to sing His praises for with He is so worthy. We must be much more of a witness to these masses of people who are so spiritually blind, ignorant, and so on. We could be in the same sad situation as these poor folk, were it not for God's grace, as I said before. If I go to hear Handel's Messiah for an example, and then hear one of m.j.'s songs, it is so repulsive, ugly [musically speaking]and of course, God is not glorified at all. Any feedback? By the way, I also know very well that the kind of music that we like, even in the church setting, can be quite controversial! |

Pete wrote: Gary, Just find the public link and we all will believe you. In fact get the Big Man to sign a piece of paper for us all to see and we will. A private statement at a private meeting is not evidence (if it really happened which I doubt). When you are at it, can you ask what his lawyers were doing at the High Court this week defending sodomite rights against the Free Presbyterian Church Well said Gary, I too was a witness to hearing Dr Paisley confirm he had not signed those papers. ‘Pete’ maybe doesn’t understand there is no internet link to the spoken word. God bless Dr Paisley. |

Thank you Jim. I also found your citation from Scofield very helpful and sound though I don't always agree with Scofield's comments. |
