Ruairidh was in a serious car accident. He is in the hospital & is in critical condition. Please pray for complete recovery. And pray for Iain & Louise.

On Sunday, we heard Jeremy and Hannah's baby boy was born on Sat. Here are the derails: Born Feb 3 at 9:53pm. His name is Hudson Taylor, 7 lbs 7 oz, 21". Names after the missionary God used to spread the gospel in China in the late 1800s. Pray that this child shares the zeal for advancement of the Kingdom.

Our prayers are answered for the safe delivery of Kaydence Jean Voss, born to Jason & Kelly on Dec 6, 2023. She was 6 lbs 9 oz and 20" tall. Mother and baby are recovering well! Praise God!

The M&E Committee is launching a new ministry called, "Need Prayer." Once a month on a Saturday, Joe Gehrmann and one elder will be on hand in the church parking lot to offer prayer to anyone who will come. Signs will be strategically placed around Orland Park to direct people to our church. The first one is to take place on Sat, Aug 26, from 1:00-3:00pm. Please pray for the needs of anyone who comes, that our tracts will be effective, and an invitation to worship with us will be accepted.

Praise God for answered prayer! According to our surgeon, JoAnn's surgery "went very well." JoAnn went into surgery around 10:30 am and was done almost 2 hrs later. Cancer tumor & "Savi-scout" chip were removed successfully from left breast. Four lymphnodes were removed from under arm. Preliminary tests on lymphnodes revealed no cancer. Results of the final pathology report will come back in about a week. JoAnn was discharged at 2:30 pm. We appreciate your continued prayers for JoAnn's recovery. John

Audrey came home yesterday afternoon and is recovering relatively quickly.

Audrey had a good night last night. They were hoping to be transferred out of ICU today. Doctors are taking things slow.

Audrey Vermeer was admitted to the pediatric ICU last night after a complication with a removal of particles of food from her lung. We pray she would recover well in the ICU and be able to be discharged soon.

We rejoice with the Vermeers on the birth of Grace Elizabeth, born around noon today. She was 8 lbs 11 oz & 21" long.

Great is our rejoicing at the birth of Gilbert Caleb Keane, born May 5 at 8:02pm. He was 19.75" long and weighed 5 lbs 12 oz. Momma and baby are doing well. The Lord is good!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Jaynie Claire Holwerda, born today at 3:30pm. Her name means "God is merciful." She was 7 lbs 5 oz, and was 19.5" long. Mom and baby are doing great.

Dave Vos's brother, Jerry Voss, passed away very early this morning. No funeral arrangements have been made yet.

Ladies, With a sad heart, Ladies Bible Study and the music class need to be cancelled yet again for Feb 10. Due to Covid, we do not have enough leaders to be able to meet. Please keep everyone in your prayers and Lord willing, we will meet on Feb 17, covering Lesson 6.

The visitation and service arrangements for Bill Fitzgerald are postponed 24 hours to Friday, noon to 3pm, and 3pm respectively.

Since church was cancelled Jan 31, we will be celebrating the Lord's Supper at the evening worship service on Feb 7. We will also be having the usual hymn sing prior to evening worship.

The Pinewood Derby is postponed due to Covid. A new date has not been determined yet.

This morning Pastor Iain received a call from Bill Fitzgerald’s niece, Leann Davenport. She was in much distress that her uncle had been admitted to hospital and placed on hospice care. Iain has visited and Bill has lost a considerable amount of weight. Your prayers for him and for his family are greatly appreciated.

The Sunday School Christmas Program is changed again. It is now scheduled for Sun, Jan 3, following the evening worship service. There will be a short rehearsal on Sat, Jan 2, at 10:00am.

The Christmas Program is postponed to January 10 after the pm service. Our practice will also be rescheduled for Jan 9th at 10am.

Dear Family of Covenant, The Session prayerfully believes we can return to in-person worship this Lord’s day. Having observed a period of quarantine, we plan to resume our normal schedule with the weekly prayer meeting on Thursday at 7am. We do recognize that some are at greater risk than others and would urge those who may have underlying health issues or other concerns to used wisdom as to whether or not it is appropriate to return to in-person worship this Lord’s Day.

This is a reminder that the Sunday School children will have a rehearsal on Sat, Dec 19, at 10:00am. The program will follow the evening worship service on Dec 20.

Due to possible wide-spread Covid exposure, the Session has decided to cancel in-person services for Dec 13. We will be live-streaming only.

The Youth Group is participating in a Police Appreciation Service Project. We are collecting items like hand warmers, chips, candy, gift cards, etc. to go in 70 bags with notes of appreciation. We still need 45 $5 gift cards to Dunkin Donuts. If you would like to help, you can contribute by giving money and we will buy the gift cards or you can buy gift cards. Please give these to Shannon Onnink by 11/22. We will assemble the bags at youth group that night and take them to the OPPD before Thanksgiving.

Dear Covenant family, JoAnn is doing well. It has been busy with visits from home health nurses and physical therapy. Dear Praying Covenant Family, JoAnn's surgery lasted 1.5 hrs. Dr. Joy (surgeon) said surgery "went great." Top of humerus bone was in 4 fragments along with other bone pieces. He said "there was no other option" to this surgery. She is in recovery now, and will spend tonight in the hospital, with possible discharge tomorrow afternoon. Dear Covenant Church family, JoAnn received medical clearance today for the "reverse total shoulder replacement" surgery. Surgery will be on Mon. Oct. 12th, at 10:45am, at Palos Hospital. She is expected to stay there overnight. Since the time of JoAnn's accident, God has shown us beautiful examples of the "Good Samaritan" in real life. Thank you for your continued prayers! John Stob

We are delighted to have with us this weekend Rev. Stephen Atkinson, Director of Ministry Christian Witness to Israel (North America) for our conference weekend.  The first session will be tonight at 7:30pm and Stephen will be walking us through the Passover and explaining to us how the elements point to Christ.  This will be a presentation particularly suited for children and they would be most welcome to attend.

John & JoAnn were on vacation in Door County, WI and were bicycling. JoAnn fell from her bike and broke her left humerus at the ball joint, which came out of the socket.  They were in the emergency room until about 9:00pm yesterday.  They currently are driving back home and are south of Green Bay.  They are looking to Dave for a recommendation for a doctor to see her and do a shoulder replacement.  She is in pain, of course, and asked for prayer.

Pete and Shannon Onnink would like to invite all who feel comfortable to their house this Sunday, June 14, between worship services for an outdoor time of fellowship. The session has decided that we can start utilizing the nursery at this time.
