We now begin the treatment of the Apostolic confession and we the question comes asking what does the knowledge of that confession mean? By faith we believe and we now look at these articles.

His power: The heart of this Lord's day is our son ship that is accomplished in our Lord Jesus Christ. Creation was not debated back in the day as it is now in the church world. We believe God called into being the chaos and created out of that chaos and by divine fiat! The world has no substitute for believing He created by the word of His power and they suppress the truth of this. And in the church world there is even compromise in many aspects, even giving place to science and evolution. I tell you that this very doctrine impacts SALVATION however! When you impact God's creative abilities and limit God Himself, you limit what God can do! Salvation for instance? He created out of nothing by divine fiat! Though faith we understand and believe that the world was formed by the very word of God! The scriptures make this doctrine a pivotal part of faith! There is an intimate relation between God's providence, faith, and salvation! Read Ephesians 1 starting at verse 3. Creation and providence belongs to redemption! The heavens and earth God causes to develop to His good pleasure towards the new heavens and new earth and perfection and through creation whereby God accomplishes His plan and His good pleasure. Completely a matter of salvation! The eternal Godhead is seen in all that is seen and those that touch those doctrines, diminish them, or compromise on them undermine their own faith and their own comfort!

Grace: All history is redemptive history! Note this very important concept now! He is our God for Jesus' sake and the Creator is our Father through adoption by the grace of God. What our flesh could not do, God accomplished in His Son. We are saved by grace! The Almighty God calls the gospel to call upon His children and by faith they take hold of it! His Spirit bears witness with our spirit and we can call him "abba Father." OUR FATHER!

Our Reliance: If earthly fathers know to give good gifts to their earthly children, how much more our heavenly Father to us?! He will turn all things to our good being able and willing and all things are from and in His heavenly care! The song "trust and obey" comes to mind.

Understand we are in the hand of the Almighty God who created all things and touches us and molds us for our final place afterwards in glory forevermore.
