Wonderful Sermon! I thoroughly enjoyed this sermon. You are the first Pastor I heard preached and ended on a positive note regarding King Saul's, (anointed by the Lord) short comings and yet there are those that remember great things about him. How quickly we forget, that our lives still aren't so perfect after receiving the Salvation of our Lord. Amen Pastor Abbey!
Great Sermon! I missed my service this pm due to car problems so I listened in to your sermon on A Battle Plan for Dealing with Temptations. The 4 point plan before us in Luke 4 was very powerful. Took notes, Loved it.
Strong Sermon! The Public education that we give our children is destructive and is the major cause of our social problems. Without early Biblical teaching they will live a selfish, sinful life. And the psychological answers are even more worthless. The Holy Bible has the guidance we all need.
Excellent Sermon! AMEN! The scripture says Jesus gave His sinless body for WHOSOEVER and ALL who would believe in Him! Not just a pre-selected person.
I am so thankful there are still some pastors (such as yourself) who have not caved into the doctrines of men, but who rightly uphold the true words of the bible!
God bless you and your church for teaching the bible as the true authority of doctrine! I was uplifted and blessed to hear this sermon and will be listening to many many more of your sermons (God willing). Thank you so much for uploading your sermons here for all to hear!
Great Sermon! I found your message very interesting. When you spoke of reformed theology you always compared it to Hyper-Calvinism; when in effect, true Calvinism is not hyper. Your Christ is a potential savior, while the Christ of the Reformed is a true Savior who will save His people (Matt 1:21). Salvation according to your understanding exalts man and diminishes the character of God, while salvation according to Reformed Theology humbles man and exalts God.
Can you help me? I'm trying to find scripture that teaches that God bases His election of us on our accepting Christ. I would like to be able to defend this from the bible. Thanks
Great Sermon! After 11+ years of believing Reformed theology, I am thankful to God for rescuing me from this false theology last November. I was reading into scripture what was not there. By studying scripture more carefully, I found out what they really say as Pastor Calvert also explains in this sermon. I can attest that with 1 exception, the several Reformed churches I attended previously were not nearly as zealous in winning souls or talking about Jesus as the Non Calvinistic Independent Baptist church that I am a member of today.
Great Sermon! Thank you for your message.Briefly said I wish you would have explained by example how the Holy Spirit would enpower the Christian in the struggle with the lust of flesh ,temptations of the devil etc..You will make more fully equipped saints. Thank ypu for the overall informative exortation.
