Effectual Call The continuation in this series on 1st Samuel outlines three features of apostacy, and a cross reference to Prov 29 v 18.
Yet in that dark and dismal season, familiar to many in this day and generation, God's effectual call goes out. Effectual even though young Samuel didn't perceive yet that he was called by name.
A powerful lesson of hope and praise in this section of the story of God's ongoing plan and love for fallen humanity.
Great Sermon! Rev Patterson gives extra emphasis in this sermon by giving the translated meanings of the names of Eli's sons, and how these relate to the theme of God's judgment. Also how the message to Eli from the unnamed man of God was fulfilled. An brief account of one of "them that honour Me" is given in the Scottish athelete Eric Liddell.
A fine sermon on a theme which may not be popular in some "liberal" quarters, but for those interested in the whole counsel of God, this message will inspire.
Great Sermon! A solemn message given this day in Garvagh, touching on the examples in this passage of the reprobate (sons of Eli) and the saved (Samuel). Sinner, where do you stand in this matter?
As usual, Rev Patterson's sermons pack in so much in a brief time, for example the meaning herein given for the name "Belial". I understood it only as a synonym for Satan, which it is, but the actual meaning is most revealing connects to the subsequent observations on parents/children.
Wake-Up Call Who could not give a hearty amen to Rev Patterson's opening sentence in this powerful message in this study series on 1st Samuel -- "Increasingly, we are seeing the wickedness of man so far as children are concerned"? The crimes against unborn, and innocent little children are well documented as the feminist and sodomite/pedophile community presses its "rights".
Many other points are covered in this opening sermon.
Hitherto Hath The LORD Helped Us Because of a personal and household interest in 1st Sam 7 v 12, I accessed this sermon. Rev Patterson's inspiring and encouraging exposition has greatly refreshed me and I intend to listen to the study series on Samuel of which this is but a part.
How much time is left? Tonight could be your midnight - do you know the Savior spoken about in this short, powerful sermon? If not, don't let your last chance go by. Time is running out in this world, and eternity is close at hand. Have you come to terms with your own sin, and do you know a Savior who can take your place when you are judged? If not, you need to spend 23 minutes of time listening to the truth about forever.
Great Sermon! A fine reminder of the origin, nature and future prospect for the Christian church, based on Christ's own words. A reassurance to believers, and a warning and exhortation to the lost.
Great Sermon! An excellent word to the young (and also more mature) people of God. Good to hear of a packed house in Garvagh for this expostion on God's guidance in the Christian life. The stress on the "more sure word" in the Bible as opposed to changeable and variable 'signs and wonders' is a great word in this day and age as it always has been.
Great Sermon! Way to go!! It seems there are a few others like this one in the Bible that we mess up. Like the rich man and Lazarus, or the literal? 1000 years in Rev. Some how we get it backwards!! Thanks so much for the insight on this one. Never heard it before.
Powerful Sermon! Dear Rev Patterson, thank you for this vital sermon which contains such truth of the boundless love of the Saviour for the wretched hell-bound sinner. Let all hear and wonder at such an incredible message as that of the Gospel of our wonderful Saviour Who must be also our Lord.
Great Sermon! HE IS RISEN, INDEED! Thank you Pastor Andrew for a wonderful sermon. Your great reminders to keep the sabbath holy and that Jesus was raised for our justification were exactly what I needed to hear this Easter Sunday. Praise our risen Lord.
Great Sermon! Thank you, Rev Patterson, for these words at the year's turning and appropriate for any time. A solemn and powerful reminder to believer and unbeliever alike of the call of God. "What will you do with the Lord Jesus Christ?" is the primary question of this dark age.
Great Sermon! Thank you, Rev Patterson, for this biblical treatment of the "vile affection" of sodomy. As this abomination is being promoted, and as Sodom and Canaan were judged for such practices, how long can a just God stay His hand on our societies? How does a just God view "Christian" churches who encourage a sinful parody of His law? Even though we may not personally be sodomite, we have to cry for mercy that His hand be stayed.
Powerful Call!! Thank you, Rev Patterson, for this urgent call to those lost and dead in sin as was I before Christ found me. Praise to Him who saves to the uttermost. Amen.
Great Sermon! A good sermon giving easy to understand teaching why no Christian should be involved with such darkness and depravity. Worth sitting down your children to hear instruction that should remain with them and give them the truth about Halloween that they, by the grace of God, should not forget.
Great Sermon! Praise God for this powerful call to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ alone. This message cuts through the touchy-feely compromise heard so much in these perilous days, and brings to the fore the urgency of the hour and the vitality of the words "You must be born again".
Powerful Message! Be sure to hear this powerful message! Thank you for telling us the truth,
and for exposing the false Roman system and their Catholic mass!
This great preacher can say more in 35 minutes than most preachers ever say
in 10 years, or their entire lifetime!
Excellent Preaching! Be sure to hear this excellent timely
message! The Pope is dead, but our high Priest lives forever! Thank you, and may God richly
bless your church and ministry!
