Thank you pastor. What a wonderful message. There is only one who can determine what is right and that is our Lord Jesus...

Sermon:
Peter's Horror at Jesus' Death
John Pittman Hey

“ Great Sermon! ”
Peter's confession of Christ (Matt 16:16) makes absolutely certain that he is born again and thus already in possession of eternal life (I John 5:1) at the time of v16. His subsequent denial of a fundamental tenet of the gospel, the crucifixion of Christ, both before it happened (Matt 16:22) and after it had happened (Mark 16:14) stand as an ironclad proof that the gospel does NOT regenerate men. The Lord quickens whom he will without any assistance from man whatsoever (John 3:8). Belief of the gospel is a lagging indicator of a grace already imparted in sovereign regeneration, not a prerequisite to obtaining eternal life. Perhaps Paul said it best: "But is now made MANIFEST by the appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality TO LIGHT through the gospel." (II Tim 1:10) Christ gives life, the gospel gives the light of information to those who have the spiritual eyes to see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

“ Powerful, Beautiful Sermon! ”
Brother Hey's presention was almost too much to grasp about God's work in our life. His explantion was so deep that I'll have to listen to this one or two more times soon, to absorb it all. What a wonderful, powerful God we have. Thank you Jesus Christ for dying for me.

Absolutely beautiful sermon! How blessed we are that our Father loves us so! As you said, intellectually we know it, but you had such a touching way of describing it to our hearts. My family and I thank you so much for your words, and guidance.

The Most Forsaken One
John Pittman Hey

“ Great Sermon! ”
I think this is the best sermon I have ever heard and may have the greatest impact on my life. I never thought of Jesus as the MOST Forsaken One, forsaken by his Father to save us, and forsaken by all of us every time we turn our backs on Him and sin against Him. I hope that thinking about this will help me to love Him more and hopefully help to kill the temptations to sin against the Beautiful Loving Perfect Forsaken One.

“ A Great blessing ”
Many thanks for this most God and Christ honouring sermon. It came as a justified reproof also for my oft (in my heart if not aloud) critisism of the rejoicing of folks which I thought was over much. A much needed lesson here from the Lord, through David and Michal. Thanks once again. May the Lord prosper your ministry over there in Mississippi. Neil Crabtree

Sermon:
His Sacrifice Is His Glory
John Pittman Hey
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
Thank you, Sir. There was much consternation here if no human sacrifice were sanctioned by the Jewish Law, how could the sacrifice of JESUS be accepted? One answer came from Hebrews 10:7-10 but to the Indian mind the glory concept is not clear, how can anyone give any sacrifice for a good cause, for example if Romans 5:6 to 8. We suffer from terrible unbeliefs and humans look on with suspicions as Indians who cannot follow the Hebrew meanings of a sacrifice and often miscontrue it for some cuckoldry and we have to rely on our pirouttes to survive! Thanks for your sermon, maybe you did not mean this sort of reaction but conditions here are too unwelcoming to share the glory concept of sacrifice as Indians pull the rug on one another!

“ Better than I can find words for. ”
The one burdened to preach this sermon demonstrates a commanding knowledge of the Scriptures and of current events -- both the reported news and the source documents. A lot is compressed into this rapid-fire sermon. It is a tour de force of the Bible. Newspapers of early America used to print a sermon from a local pulpit the same week it was preached. This one reminds us why sermons were published on the front page of the newspaper (and were widely read outside the congregation).

“ The Gospel is Good! ”
To God be the glory great things HE hath done! The truth is not preached everywhere and when we hear His voice we know it's Him. The truth will be told, and His people will hear it; whether it be by way of land, sea or satellites in the sky. Our perfect, sovereign Lord puts His people right where He wants them. All things work together for the good of His people. Although we are many miles apart and have never met, we have two things in common; we are both dogs and we depend completely on our master.

Thank you for this sermon. I praise GOD for the way you uphold GOD'S Word with humility, gentleness, yet deep conviction. Surely, you are a preacher for the wounded heart. GOD uses men such as you in these troubled times. Bless the Lord for the use of our spiritual gifts, and our positions in the body that He calls us to use in the battles of life.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I must say; I hear your reverent love, for the Lord Jesus in your sermons. It is a pleasure to listen to one of GOD'S servants who actually sound as one who truly knows Him,it is a very encouraging message. This sermon reveals a scriptural description of GOD in Jesus Christ, who walked among us meekly, lowly, and humble. Thank you, I see a need to cry out for humility in my own prideful life, because of this message.
