“ Great Sermon! ” Excellent Sermon - much comfort in times of trouble. Luke 24:36b "Peace be unto you."
Isaiah 48:22(KJV)"There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked." Christ is our peace. There is much comfort there.
“ What a blessed hope we have, thank you Mr Nibert for preaching the truth in Christ Jesus. ” A soaring sermon, so reassuring and so true. Blessed be God for this gift.
“ What a blessing! What a Savior! What a message! ” A clear picture of our Lord Jesus Christ, God's precious, willing, pure, trusted and faithful sacrifice to give His people the absolute victory over all our enemies. Thanks be unto God our Father for His unspeakable gift!
“ Dangerous Territory ” This sermon was hard to follow. The reasoning that the pastor laid out in using the Disciple's Prayer for identifying the 12 marks of a saint. I wasn't able to follow it, but then maybe my eyes haven't been opened. Who knows?
Where the pastor went off track with this sermon was with one statement "If you can't forgive then you (think) you're not a sinner". That's patently not true for the elect.
I, myself have wrestled with forgiveness for years in prayer. All I can do is ask God to help me to forgive. I can't just make up my mind to forgive; neither can anyone else, including the pastor. That was a very presumptuous statement on his part. Very dangerous.
Pastors need to learn humility in the handling of God's word. Spurgeon said "I can assure you that I never address you without feeling that it would be better for me to engage in breaking stones on the road or in any handicraft however hard it might be, than to have to preach the gospel; because if I am unfaithful to the many souls committed to my charge, what must be my portion at the last?"
Luther said that he never went into the pulpit without his knees knocking together through fear, even though he was a man of dauntless courage.

“ A Hidden Jewel Inside ” First off, the audio is overdriven & could wreak havoc on speakers. It did mine. But that didn't stop me from listening to the sermon 3 times over the last 2 days. There was a lot to take in in that short 37 mins.
How do we see Peter before & after the Lord's crucifixion? The short answer(if we are honest with ourselves)is that we see ourselves. Shamelessly confident on one side & totally worthless on the other.
The pastor did an exceptional job at bringing these two contrasting aspects together to show just how 'human' we can be & still be God's children (in spite of our best efforts to the contrary).
