“ The Old Man Shall Serve the Young Man ”
It's a wonderful thing when the Lord chooses to open your eyes & ears to His Truth. I can never get over the amazement when that happens. The Lord chose to use this sermon to do just that with me. Giving me a crystal clear picture of the two natures in Genesis with Rebekah, when she was pregnant with the twins. I had never seen the connection before. Now, I see clearly that it is a perfect example for us, so that we can understand. Pastor Nibert traveled through the bible with this sermon. He pointed out many places where this is perfectly clear for those who are allowed to see it. I am so glad that I was. This sermon is definitely a keeper. Scripture references are - Romans 7:14-25/8:3; James 2:8; Genesis 6:5/25:20; Galatians 5:17; 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 6:44; 1 Timothy 1:15; Psalm 119; 1 John 3

“ The True Spiritual Seed of Abraham ”
This sermon starts out in mid sentence at the 0:23 sec mark. I am always looking to get closer to God by understanding His word more clearly. Pastor Nibert gave extensive information in this sermon on just who true believers really are. Pastor Nibert states several facts in the first part of this sermon. Some of them are: 1-The chosen of God are the true spiritual seed (sons) of Abraham. 2- God's promise is unilateral. 3- Salvation by God's promise & salvation by grace are precisely the same thing. Pastor Nibert goes on to list 7 promises of God to His people. They are 1-Jusitification, 2-Sonship, 3-Holiness, 4-Preservation, 5-All Physical Needs, 6-Victory In Death, 7-Eternity beholding His glory. Two things Pastor Nibert mentioned during the sermon that are worth remembering are 1 - The seed of Israel is EVERY BELIEVER. 2 - The sting of death is SIN & the strength of sin is the LAW. Scripture references - Genesis 12:1/13:14/15/17:5/18:17; Deuteronomy 7:9; Lamentations 3:21; 2 Samuel 23:5; Jeremiah 32:40; Psalm 110:3; Isaiah 45:22; Hebrews 10:23; 2 Timothy 2:13; Titus 1:1; 1 Corinthians 15:51; 2 Corinthians 1:20; Galatians 3:18: Romans 4:20-21; 1 John 3:1; Ephesians 1:4/3:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:24; Philippians 1:6

“ Are YOU A Roman's 7 Sinner? Are You? ”
Another thought provoking sermon from Pastor Nibert. He takes this passage of scripture & walks through it verse by verse, giving explanation & asking questions on each verse. The sermon speaks for itself basically, but for those who are in question as to where they stand spiritually? This sermon will clearly define it for you. You won't be in question after listening to this sermon. You may be surprised by what you learn. I know I was. I had listened to this sermon a year or so ago & thought it pretty good. Now, that I have grown spiritually, I came back & listened again & was impressed at what I gleaned from it this time around. It was almost as if I hadn't heard it before. Do yourself a favor, listen to this sermon & see what you think. Scripture references - Romans 7:13-25; John 5:40; Galatians 5:17

“ God's Righteous Hatred ”
Most people don't or can't understand how God can have RIGHTEOUS HATRED. They just simply can't get their heads around that concept. That doesn't change the fact though that God hates righteously and man does not. Man wants revenge. God wants & gets JUSTICE. That's what this sermon is all about. The book of Obadiah is the shortest book in the OT and deals with Jacob & Esau & God's feelings towards them. The name Obadiah means "Servant of the Lord" and there are 13 different Obadiah's in the OT. Esau is described as being PROFANE. That means "accessible". If you can be bought, you are profane (basically). These are the things that Pastor Nibert describes, explains and expounds upon in this sermon. If you are struggling with God's hatred, then this sermon is just what you need to help you understand WHY. Scripture references are - Obadiah; Malachi 1:1; Hebrews 12:15; Romans 8:1, 28/11:26

“ Do You Count Predestination A Spiritual Blessing? ”
This has to be one of the best sermons that I have heard on the subject of Predestination. Only Henry Mahan has preached anything as wonderful. Some of the things that Pastor Nibert mentioned in this sermon were: Predestination is God being God. Predestination has to do with the love of God. Take away Predestination & you take away the love of God. Predestination always has to do with salvation. For anyone who wants a more clear understanding of this subject should listen to this sermon. Anyone who enjoys hearing about this subject should listen as well. Very spiritually uplifting and informative. Scripture references are - Ephesians 1:3-6/1:11/2:4; Romans 8:29-30/9:11; Acts 4:23; Psalm 5:5; Isaiah 46:9; Revelation 13:8; 1 Corinthians 1:23-24/2:6-7/4:7; 1 John 4:17

“ What's In A Name? ”
I am still working my way through sermons regarding Jacob & Joseph. I have always been fascinated with the wrestling match that took place between Christ & Jacob. Pastor Nibert does an exquisite job of describing this scenario. Quite a bit of detail to it, which causes one to stop & think for a few moments on just what it is they are actually reading. What I didn't know but learned, was that in scripture, any time that someone has a name change (with only one exception) they never are referred to by their old names again. The exception is JACOB. He is repeatedly referred to as both Jacob and Israel. The reason why? Because of what both names stand for or represent. Israel represents the new life given us - the spiritual and Jacob represents the old man, the fleshly, sinful part of us. FASCINATING! I had never realized that before. This sermon is definitely a keeper and is worth listening to over & over again. Scripture references are - Genesis 25:21/30:41/32:3-9,24-31; Psalm 146:5/25:11; Ephesians 1:3

“ Incomplete File ”
This is supposed to be a full sermon and it is listed as being only 1 min 31 secs long and it is not even quite that long. What you can hear of this sermon is clearly that it is a regular church service sermon and it is abruptly cut off. Hopefully the church has a full copy of this sermon and can upload it to SermonAudio so that those of us who are interested in hearing this sermon, can.

The Betrayal of Joseph

“ Finding Christ In the Old Testament ”
I followed the Clothing of Joseph sermon up with this one and I wasn't disappointed. Pastor Nibert expanded on his comparison between Joseph & Christ in this sermon by focusing on Joseph's willingness to do as his father requests of him where his brothers are concerned. Pastor Nibert also goes into more detail regarding the hatred of his brothers for him & what they did & why. I can't get over the obviousness of the similarities here between Joseph & Christ. My eyes have been closed to this all this time & it was right there in front of me. One thing that Pastor Nibert did point out was what Jacob did where his own brother and father were concerned & that was the exact same thing that Joseph's brothers did to him & Jacob. What you sow, you reap. There are consequences for what we do. Very, very interesting. These sermons regarding Joseph have caused me to take a much different look at scripture now. I feel my eyes are being opened much wider. I thank God in Christ Jesus that the Father has chosen Pastor Nibert to impart this understanding to me. Scripture references are - Genesis 37:12-36/45:1/50:19; Romans 8:6; 2 Corinthians 8:9; Luke 13:34/19:41; John 10:15/15:22

“ Joseph, A Type of Christ ”
It was in the sermon "The Death of Jacob" that I heard Pastor Nibert first mention that Joseph was a type of Christ. I was surprised by this when he mentioned it & I wanted to learn more. In this sermon, Pastor Nibert goes into more detail as he will over the next several sermons on Joseph. I was amazed that I had never noticed the things that he mentioned regarding the comparison between Joseph & Christ. Several things that he mentions are the comparison of Joseph's coat & what Christ wore through His ministry. The love of his father compared to the love of God for Christ. The lack of sin of Joseph. The suffering & mistreatment Joseph endured. Being sold as a slave for 20 pieces of silver (Christ for 30 pieces). His love for his brethren in spite of mistreatment and hatred. Doing his father's will. He also mentions the rise to power of Joseph & the forgiveness of his brethren. This is very interesting & goes a long, long way into helping me understand scripture better; which is my constant prayer and the Lord is using Pastor Nibert magnificently in bringing this about. Scripture references are Genesis 37-41/39:7/40:5-15/41:12-14,41; Psalm 40:6-12; Romans 8:38; Ephesians 1:6; Hebrews 5:10/10:14

“ The Warring of the Spirit Against the Flesh ”
Not many pastors can handle this section of scripture. I was glad to see that Pastor Nibert wasn't afraid of it. He did exceptionally well. I learned something very valuable in listening to this sermon. I learned that the Amalakites are symbolic of the human flesh. Pastor Nibert explains it beautifully and I was amazed at how much sense it made. I had never seen it before. I now look at Jacob & Esau in a much different light. I understand and that is a prayer has been answered these last several weeks. This is a very informative sermon/bible study. There is much to be gleaned from it. The hymn that Pastor Nibert quotes toward the end is called "Take my life & let it be" by Frances Havergal Scripture references are 1 Samuel 15/28/30:17; Genesis 25:22; Exodus 17:8-14; Galatians 5:17; Philippians 3:3

“ Audio Issues ”
This sermon has some very serious audio issues. First off, the first 14 mins 30 secs are singing, praying, etc. Preaching doesn't start until the 14:35 mark. During the sermon, the problems could be the pastor is walking away from the mic or the audio is dropping out, I can't tell which. But, Pastor Nibert will be preaching along and then all of a sudden he fades away and you can't hear him. Then he will come back nice and strong and it will start all over again. Very hard to listen to this sermon. He does speak however on the death of Abraham and Jacob and what went into their deaths and where they are buried. Pastor Nibert did give 3 words to describe the death of a true believer and they were: BLESSING, PRECIOUS & GAIN. Scripture references are: Genesis 23/47:9/49:29-33; Exodus; Isaiah 40:1; 2 Samuel 23:5-7; Psalm 116:15; Galatians 3:18; Philippians 1:21; Revelation 14:13

How to Deal With Death
Todd Nibert

“ Graduation Day ”
Due to my own personal health I have been looking for sermons regarding what happens to believers at the point of physical death. I ran across this sermon & it sounded interesting. It was much more than I could have hoped for. This sermon is based on the death of Jacob (Israel) and involved the moment when he was face to face with Joseph at the point of his death and was asking Joseph to forgive/bless him and to take him to be buried with his fathers. What I learned & never even considered was that Joseph was an OT example of Christ. Once Pastor Nibert explained it, I was astounded. This opens many new doors for me where scripture is concerned. Back in the day, Jacob wrestled with the angel (Christ) and Christ touched Jacob's thigh & put it out of joint. Later he would ask Joseph to place His hand under Jacob's thigh to seal the promise between them. Why I named this Graduation Day is because Pastor Nibert explains that our very best day of all days as true believers is the day we die. He explains why in the sermon. Pastor Nibert also refers to a hymn entitled "Oh, that will be glory" by Charles H Gabriel. Scripture references are Genesis 47:29-31; 50:17 & 24; Psalm 51:1; Isaiah 43:1; Ephesians 2:3-10; Hebrews 6:13/8:33/9:27; Galatians 5:5; Revelation 14:13

“ Speaking on Eternal Life ”
The title doesn't really encompass fully what this sermon is about. It comes home to Eternal Life. Regardless of the 4 topics listed, every single one of them comes back to Eternal Life. This made for a very interesting sermon touching on many things that we don't really think about on a day to day basis. Some things that Pastor Nibert pointed out were "True faith has absolutely nothing to do with what you believe about yourself". "Hope of eternal life is justification by grace". "3 evidences of eternal life are FAITH, REPENTANCE & LOVE". "Eternal Life cannot be separated from the Words of God". "There are 3 types of death - Spiritual (enmity against God), Physical & Eternal". "Repentance is a change of mind about God, not yourself". These are just some of the jewels to be found in this sermon. Well worth the 40 minutes. Scripture references are - 1 John 3:14-15/4:7,19/11/17; John 3:36/5:24/6:17,40,63/8:44/17:23/20:30-31; Acts 11:18; Titus 3:5; Job 42:5

“ Well Explained Sermon ”
Pastor Nibert did an excellent job at explaining how to see the evidence of the new birth. I like to have greater understanding of the Word of God because through that better understanding I can draw closer to God and Pastor Nibert aids in that. In laying out how to confirm the evidence of a new birth, he made it simple to understand, which helps to build confidence in the believer. We need that strength. Something of note that he mentioned in this sermon was "Saving faith has nothing to do with how you feel about yourself" which is oh so true. If you want to know whether or not you have experienced the New Birth or not, give this sermon a listen. Aside from the main scripture, Pastor Nibert drew from the following scriptures - John 1:12/3:3-6/6:59-61; Zechariah 4:6; 1 Peter 1:3,23-24; 1 John 3:9; Luke 4:16; 1 Samuel 16:1,6; Daniel 9:24-25; Isaiah 42:1

“ Eye Opening Sermon ”
I wasn't sure just exactly what to expect from this sermon. I was pleasantly surprised. Pastor Nibert hasn't let me down so far and this was no exception. There are plenty of people out there walking around thinking that they are saved just because they go to church or heard about Christ or have read some of their bible or can quote scripture. But, Pastor Nibert gets down to the meat of the subject by asking the real question. "Are you a believer". Do you believe that grace is saving grace? Christ justified the ungodly? Christ's ability to save? Christ is the son of God? Do you truly believe those things in your heart? That's the real question here. Do you? This is what Pastor Nibert discusses. The difference between believing and just being familiar with. I actually felt better after hearing this sermon. I enjoy when God speaks through pastors like this. It makes me feel so much closer to HIM. Scripture references are Acts 5:14/8/13:48/15:11; John 6:29; Romans 1:16/4:5/10:4; 1 Corinthians 1:21; 1 Timothy 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:12; Colossians 1:20; Exodus 3; 1 John 5:1; 1 Peter 2:7

“ Taking A Closer Look At Yourself ”
I am preoccupied with physical death right now, due to my own health and was listening to sermons regarding this subject from the pastors that I trust and like. One of them being Todd Nibert. I ran across this sermon of his thinking he might speak on what happens to the elect at the point of physical death. What God intended for me to hear through his mouthpiece Pastor Nibert, was not about physical death, but the condition of one's soul and how they conduct themselves while being on this earth. As it turns out, God knows me better than I know myself. He knew what I needed to hear and it did make its desired impact on me. I actually feel better after having listened to this sermon. Refreshed would be a good word to use to describe the feeling. What Pastor Nibert spoke on was about how we live our lives and what we die to. How we should live our lives and what we should die to. And he explained things beautifully. If you need to get back to basics where your salvation is concerned. If you have gotten bogged down in the world and need to be pulled from the mire, this sermon is exactly the lifeline you need. Well worth the 40 minutes. Scripture reference is 2 Corinthians 4:6-12
