Hard sayings spoken boldly! There are some portions of Scripture that are so strongly âCalvinisticâ and offensive to the religious crowds that even strong Reformed preachers shy away from them. Not so Pastor Curtis! In interpreting Galatians 4:6 â âAnd because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Fatherâ, Brother Curtis plainly says that one does not become a âchild of Godâ when he believes on Him or because of something he did, but because ye are sons God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts. Beloved this is a true saying and worthy of all acceptation, and it takes real guts to preach this like it is.
A wonderful sermon which establishes the fact that Faith is a gift of God and not something every man possesses. Listen to it and be blessed!
Wonderful Sermon! The Lord used this sermon to help me realize that the way I react to difficult situations is largely out of covetousness and a desire for self-sufficiency instead of being content to trust Jesus to provide for me and protect me regardless of the appearance of external circumstances.
Great Sermon! Thank you for this instructive sermon. I've been reading the Bible for a long time now but certain truths became clearer to me by listening. This was a blessing and I thank you.
An Excellent Sermon! Wonderful sermon on a precious text of scripture! Love the comments and pointing us to Christ as our rest and our contentment! May the Lord Jesus Christ bless your studies Brother Clay!
Wonderful Sermon! Love the exhortation to continue to preach leaving the results with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Christ honoring, God glorifying message!
Excellent Sermon! What a blessing this sermon is for the believer! Love the comments about the Bait and the Trap and the Broken Yoke!
Clover for God's sheep!
Excellent Sermon! This is an excellent sermon, thank you Brother Clay for preaching the Free and Sovereign Grace of God in Christ! May the Lord Jesus Christ bless your ministry!
A must listen!
Finally the true inetrpretation! They say never judge a book by its cover! And I would say never take for granted that a preacher believes in âSovereign Graceâ till youâve heard his interpretation of Rom 9:13. Dose his exposition of this Scripture and the whole of Romans 9 raise the million dollar question â âWhy doth He yet find fault? For who hath resisted His will?â [Rom 9:19]
There are many preachers who claim to be âReformedâ who interpret this scripture to please the carnal mind. Hereâs a quote from John MacArthur Jr â "With regard to Esau, I say, nowhere in Genesis does it say that God hated Esau, it doesnât say anywhere that he hated Esau. It was only after Esau had chosen sin and abandoned God, for many many years, over a thousand years, before God would look back and say "Esau have I hated". By that time it was clear to all where Esau stood. So once the sinner is inexorably, and finally identified with his sin, then the sinner feels the hatred of God.( GC Audio Tape -70-11).
The day is coming when God will show His displeasure to many who have explained away the harsher doctrines. He will chide them with the same words he chided Eliphaz â âYe have not spoken of Me the thing that is right!â [Job 42:7].
Oh how we need to praise God for preachers like Brother Curtis! May God raise up more such men
