The particular virtue that the apostle emphasizes to us tonight is the virtue of love. Last week, we saw that sins of the tongue are radically inappropriate for Christians. Lying and yelling should have no place among us. Once again, Paul returns to the truth of Gospel logic, which tells us “Become what you are!” Tonight, we learn that we are God’s beloved children through what Jesus did for us. Because Jesus gave Himself for you, you need to love like He does and like His Father does.
