If the purpose of man, the crown of creation, is to bring praise and worship to his Creator God. And, if true worship may only be done in the presence of God, or in other words, that there can be no true worship of God out side of His presence. And if God will not make Himself present among those who have defiled themselves with unrepentant sin, with unchecked rebellion. Then it is clear that as man remains in his sin; as he choses to remain in rebellion, . . . that he will be unable to achieve that for which he was created: the worship of God. This man will be unable to enter into that single activity which will truly make man whole and complete: communion with his Maker. What then must be the result for this rebellious man? Unrest. But the word of God here clearly states that a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God. The question then is how may one enter into that rest. That is the question which the author of Hebrews begins to answer here in Hebrews 4:1-11.
