Aim: To willingly submit ourselves to Christ—as His slaves of righteousness.
Exegesis: As slaves of righteousness we are free to obey the gospel. The ''choice'' is ours (vv. 15-16), God's grace is ours (vv. 17-18), and God's power is ours (v. 19). As slaves of righteousness we are free to live in the gospel, learning from our pasts (vv. 20-21), reveling in our salvation (v. 22), and praising our Redeemer (v. 23).
Key verse: v. 16 ''Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?''
