Moses and Aaron, commissioned by God to lead the children of Israel out of bondage. find that they meet with an outright refusal from Pharaoh and hostility from the very people they had come to free from captivity. Moses complains to the Lord, as well he might, being perplexed by the fact that he and Aaron had been sent by God for the purpose of freeing the slaves and the whole situation got worse. God does not give him any sympathy. He recommissions them both and informs Moses that he must say to Pharaoh what God tells him. However, he lets him know that what has happened is under His control and that He, God, will show them just what He is going to do to Pharaoh. The lesson that we should learn from this is that doing the will of God is not straightforward or easy. We must persevere.
