In part 3 of our exposition in 2 Thessalonians, we look at ch. 2: 3b-12. We consider the Man of Lawlessness as he is described. We will consider this under 1) The Man of Lawlessness Described; 2) The Man of Lawlessness Restrained; and 3) The Man of Lawlessness Deceiving. The coming apostasy is not the only sign of Christ coming, but also the revealing of the man of lawlessness. Paul makes it clear that Christ had not come yet, since these two events had not taken place. Likewise, we know that today too. Christ will return in judgment, but the apostasy and the revealing of the man of sin will take place first. But while the world may be deceived by such a wicked man, the Christian will not fall prey to such deception, for we are kept by the power of God!
