Presently both creation and even God’s people are in a state of groaning. Our bodies are part of the created order and even though we have been redeemed and have the deposit of the Holy Spirit within us, we still groan. We will still get tired and sick and are liable to grow old and die. Our bodies are also subject to futility and corruption.
