And thus in contrast to the believer who evaluates life through the paradigm of Christ, the sham Christian's paradigm revolves around this present passing age — its values, goals, glory, wealth, and desires. That is the standard by which the sham Christian gauges life.
Thus to be an enemy of the cross, is to be one who not only glories in himself, but also proclaims a message which contradicts this and essentially says you are not so bad. If you will continue to do such and such God will love you! The basis for your acceptance before God is the performance of certain duties.
