Trial brings Patience, perseverance (the word does not mean you get better at waiting for stuff). That is a general, overall truth, but specific trials can bring growth in specific areas. Many expe-riences will humble us. Others will encourage us. Some will teach us perseverance, and many teach us to rely on the Lord. How often are we fighting against the teacher? How often are we challenging the coach? All of that makes sense sometimes in worldly situations, but not with an almighty, faultless, all-knowing coach or teacher.
What if you were learning something, or training for something, and you knew your coach or teacher was all-knowing? That they were always going to be right no matter what the issue? How much time would you waste arguing with them?
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribu-lation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spir-it who was given to us. Romans 5:1-5 NKJV |
