The saints at Pergamum had gotten too close to the wickedness of the idol worship around them. They had slowly gotten comfortable going back to the old haunts of those idols they had been saved out of and away from. Then, overcome by the temptations and lusts of the flesh, they gave in to sinful practices. Idolatry is very hard to resist.

“ Great Sermon! ” What an inspiring and informative lesson! I've listened to many, and I must say, this Minister has truly ministered to my heart. I was convicted by the Holy Spirit for my involvement in the Roman Catholic Church, I've done concerts, sang for their veneration services during Good Friday services at the Saint Mary's Cathedral in S.F. CA.
although I sang from a Baptist Hymnbook, I did not understand the seriousness of this pagan religion and it's mesemerizing effect upon people. I thank God for His amazing grace!
