In Ephesians 5:21 we learned last week what it means to be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. In today's passage Paul expands on this and gives specific commands of to whom and how wives, husbands, children, slaves, and masters are to be subject to others. Taken in its full context, which includes all of Ephesians 5 and the full counsel of God, we see that in doing this we are following the example of the Lord Jesus Christ as He submitted to the will of the Father and why we too must do this, which requires that we think and act “politically incorrectly” according to the world's standards.
