Doctors fought around the clock to save the life of an unborn child whose mother fell gravely ill with COVID-19. By God's grace, those desperate efforts earlier this summer spared both mom and child. During the 20 days it took to preserve those two lives, Americans voluntarily and legally killed 47,000 unborn babies through abortion. Who determines whose life is worth protecting? How do we explain a culture that fights fiercely for life in some circumstances, yet callously disregards and even discards life in other circumstances? The disconnect in medical ethics today simply shows the staggering disconnect between sinful man and our holy God. God, who made man in His image, makes clear that all human life is holy and worthy of protection. This Sunday, we'll consider the broad reach of the sixth commandment with "Law of Love and Liberty: Mending Murderous Hearts."
