INTRODUCTION: Samuel was the greatest of judges but his rule as judge would not be without its problems. His sons fell short of his example and the people demanded a king like all the other nations. Samuel served in stark contrast to the times of the previous judges. Samuel was a righteous judge who brought the people of Israel back into the will of God and His fellowship. There was revival in the land and justice was restored. Likewise, the Christian does not live a perfect life even after we determine to serve the Lord. Yet, there is bold contrast with those who serve themselves. Our prayer should be for the revival of heart matching the revival described in this lesson.
CONCLUSION: Israel obtained the victory in accordance with their seeking the LORD. We are told to seek the things of God first and all these things shall be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). There is also a correlation in the life of a Christian between seeking the Lord and spiritual victories. Everyone needs a dedicated walk with God?
