Have you ever turned to a friend or loved one and said "I promise you that I…", and then proceeded to maybe, sorta, kinda actually keep that promise to them? Ever do that with God? Making promises is tricky business in this body of flesh, better leave the promise-making to Jesus Christ. Guess what? He has lots of them, and tonight we will look at promises God makes to born again believers in the Church, promises God makes to the Tribulation saints of Jacob's trouble, and promises that God makes to the lost. This is gonna be a good one!
"And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee." Acts 13:32,33 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at the wild and crazy dispensational promises that God makes to the Church, to the Tribulation saints and to the lost, and let me tell you right now, it will be a wild ride to say the least. One way we know for certain that dispensations exists, aside from the fact that Paul mentions dispensations 5 times, is that the promises made to each group vary so widely. This is not so much a study of differing doctrine, though we will cover that, this is a study on the different promises God makes to all 3 groups. One thing's for certain, God will absolutely keep His promises, and that is one of the very best attributes He has. |
