No matter how great the experience or revelation, we can mess it up
No matter how great the gift or power, we can still mess it up
No matter how bad we mess it up, God can still use us
Matthew 16 was 29-32 AD – Galatians 2 event 15-25 years later – at least 14 years after Paul’s conversion (around 36 AD) and could be 17 years (Galatians 1:15-21, 2:1) and Peter’s visit to Antioch was after that.
The one main calling Peter had, to declare that all peoples are included in the gospel (Matthew 16:13-23, 28:18-20 / Acts 2:38-39, 11:1-18), he kept failing on. This is the one area he took the longest in, the one area he had constant reminders of (Galatians 2:11-14). God has to remind us time and again (Matthew 16:5-12).
