In Deuteronomy, Moses is preparing the next generation for the entrance into the Promised Land. He will not be able to enter. He struck the rock twice when God told him to only strike it once. This book a sermon or a collection of sermons which Moses deliverer to Israel before his death. He reminded them of all the instructions which God had given to the previous generation at Mt. Sinai. Everyone twenty years old and up had died during the 40 years of wilderness wanderings, and a new generation was preparing to enter the Promise land under the leadership of Joshua. Moses told them that God was going to give them a good land to live in, but he warned them of the dangers of forgetting God. As we think about God’s blessings on America, let us consider how these principles impact us in our current condition. This morning, we will be reading from Deuteronomy 8. Our topic will be “This Good Land.” We will consider from this passage the necessity to 1) Remember the Word of God, 1-6 2) Remember the Worship of God, 7-10 3) Remember the Wealth of God, 11-18 4) Remember the Warning of God, 19-20.
